I have to admit that it is good to see Celtic getting mugged on the Hendry deal.
You boys are annoyingly good at getting hefty fees for average players. Frimpong and Klimala being the two most recent.
It looks like Oostende are just going to sell Hendry straight on for a tidy profit.

Hindsight is 20/20, the deal must have looked great at the time after his 'performances' for us.
The bigger issue is a DoF, Hector. Late, yes but the registration window in Europe only open from this week, some as late as 1st July.

You would have thought with the newbie coming that would have had our DoF in place to sort out all transfer dealings so that they can hit the crowd running and get on with the coaching side of things. That said I still wouldn't be surprised for the Angie deal to fall through!

Maybe you've got insight into who they're looking at but I don't even know what the DoF model they're looking at.
Is it the coach ID's players and the DoF tries to get them or the other way, the DoF has his longer term vision and working with the scouts the coach gets what he's given and told to get the best out of them?
From outside, the backroom flux has us looking a bit, I don't want to say amateurish but at least...under prepared.

This is a tough time of year for all teams - forward planning isnt easy.
You may need a new DoF, Manager, Coaching staff and about 8-10 first team ready players.....
.....but we could do with a bit of extra cover in the CM area and we are a bit overloaded with CBs at the moment.
Other teams have problems too!
the dof position really annoys me, and smacks of how much of a mess we are.
i've never seen a club drag their heels so much in my life, they are the masters of failure to prepare.

Everything about Celtic over the past 12 months has been pretty shocking.
From the collapse on the field to the Lennon debacle it seems that everything at the club just went to pieces last season as soon as a tiny bit of pressure was applied.
And now Celtic have a significant, critical rebuild to carry out.....and you are weeks before preseason starting and so far all you have is a new Chief Exec who has no experience in football.
It just looks completely bizarre from the outside tbh.
Even the choice of Big Angie. Yes he has experience and people saying nice things about him but lets be honest - he is a massive risk. A complete unknown quantity in the European game.
Long may this madness continue......

Angies relationship with the press will be interesting.
I have heard it said a few time he will need time to build a winning team. So its safe to say he will be getting asked some awkward questions by the press, having his credentials challenged etc a few weeks in when he has crashed out of europe and is sitting 4-6 points behind Rangers after half a dozen games.
I can imagine his press conferences will be quite entertaining.
Won't be long before he's on a gyro.

Aye
It’s open day on us.
Most of which if not all is self inflicted. It would be churlish to deny bears their glee at our expense. It’s just our turn in the barrel.

this is bang on

in the boardroom
even the fans are having a civil war (I do enjoy how much we do question the club and don't just buy in to everything like others)

Yup we have had our banter years, I had hoped/expected a strategic response from our Board in response to the calamity if the season past. So far I see zero evidence of thus, ah well maybe they will still surprise me in a positive way 🙄
There are obviously a lot of rumours that Celtic season ticket sales are way down.
Anyone know what the real numbers are?
I am sure when Angie gets here and brings some of the best talent from the A League/J League the excitement will start to build.....
Renewals might be slow but they'll not have a problem selling them
We’ve probably only sold 15-20,000 so far.
Deadline is end of the month.
