of the starting line up really only Christie and O'donnell i thought shouldn't have been there.
I dont even think Marshall is 2nd best keeper in the squad but understand why he gets the nod.
Other managers make the harsh decisions though, look at wales. Hennessey had saved a penalty for them to qualify yet doesn't get in because manager makes the call.

As soon as you saw that team you could tell we werent going to win the game.
Forrest (or Patterson for that matter) should have been on when McTominay went into the defence.
Dykes looked like what he is - a limited player who has done us a bit of a turn but he has no real pace or guile.
I thought Robertson did well enough and McGinn got into it a bit more later on.
McGregor looks like he needs to get a different job btw. He looks shot as a footballer. Absolutely zero confidence or belief about him.
Think he needs a couple of months off!
England have a phenomenal squad but a terrible manager.
He’ll get that if he signs for Leicester

England are a decent team but the only way they will ever win a major tournament against the best is by playing the majority of their games at home in a major tourney, otherwise they can forget it as the way their league is now set up with mainly foreigners they have no chance outwith playing pretty much all their games at home, in fact it's been so long now for them they are getting quite desperate to make sure a tournament has been set up such as this

Midfield was garbage. McTominay was dreadful, McGinn seemed to just want to stick his backside into people and fall over and Armstrong could barely get a touch.
They got their tactics spot on though and got a bit of luck when they needed it.

This. You've got to pick your best players, loyalty shouldn't come into it at all. There simply aren't enough games in the group to get away with it, and this was our must-win. O'Donnell was only ever in the squad because we didn't have any other RB options - Patterson is there now and played more big games in half a season than O'Donnell has his entire career. Christie has had an awful season and is totally off form, so god knows on what basis he got into the starting lineup. Even team selection can't account for mad individual mistakes like Marshall being so far off his line for the second goal though.
