When he says expected, means absolutely nothing has been settled just yet. I can still see some more twists and turns.
Don't be surprised if another name suddenly emerges as the frontrunner.
He has to have the requisite clearance to work in the UK and under the current processes, this has caused a delay.
I don't know if they are handling it badly - football fans like suspense. Once it's unveiled it's out there, until then fans like us are going to be searching, looking at club related articles, writing about the club etc. It was the same with Bale!

I hope there is another twist.....a positive one. I'm so underwhelmed by Fonseca.

This doesn't stop him from signing a contract and the club announcing it. More delay just gives the impression that either he or the club are not entirely sure about the appointment.

So the club would sign a contract and announce it when it isn't certain he'd have the legal right to work in the UK?
Ok sure...

I meant that the process of announcing his appointment does not necessarily have to wait for him to fly in from the Ukraine at the end of the month.
I am not at all keen on Fonseca and I'd be happy if he wasn't given the job, but I think Spurs seem to be finding obstacles at every turn.
I think you're just reading into this how you want to

I have changed my mind about Fonseca, I think he may be a very good appointment, getting more optimistic (but then false hope is the regular diet of all Spurs fans)
I will just wait for confirmation from morespurs or Luka lol

I’m past caring about the announcement now as it seems a formality, I don’t need to read Levys generic media guff statement about how pleased and excited we are to have him or see Fonseca stood there grinning and holding up a club scarf. What I do hope is that, regardless of the announcement, he’s not idling on a sun lounger somewhere and that he and Paratici are already collaborating on the plans for next season, rather than waiting for all the red tape to be cut away by Levy. We don’t have time to waste.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, this.
It's clear that there are legal/tax things in play and that's why it's delayed. I don't really care about the announcement.
The great thing about the DoF position is that there is less need for the coach to be there right now. They can use video to talk through squad moves and get coach input but ultimately Paratici is the one working right now (even though he doesn't officially start until July).

Fonseca is my age. late 40s. He has a 30 year old wife. Google her. Katerina.
Fonseca has my total respect
I agree. If our transfer dealings are already under way, in the absence of Fonseca's official appointment, then that's fine.
Even though we have a DoF, hopefully there will be consultation with the manager on who to buy and who to sell. If that's happening with Fonseca, then great.

Funny how that doesn’t seem to happen at any other club.
Surely any potential signing worth their salt are going to want to know who their coach will be before signing?

Incredible Tottenham again. There are huge fiscal problems to complete the appointment of Fonseca as new manager despite verbal agreement completed and contract set to be signed, as reported on @SkySport @DiMarzio. ⚪️🚨 #THFC
That’s why Fonseca has NOT signed yet with Spurs. ❌
