So as I understand it (but let's be honest it could change again because it's Spurs) Gennaro Gattuso was Fabio Paratici's preferred choice and he wanted him at Juventus before he left, but he wasn't available for Tottenham.
So Fonseca became the available top choice. Everything was agreed between him and Spurs. Even yesterday they were sorting stuff for his visa and all the administrative stuff. Paratici and Fonseca had meetings this week in Milan and Como, to prepare for the season ahead.
Everything was going through. Then Gattuso left Fiorentina today and everything has gone haywire and Spurs have now switched their attentions to him. Fonseca's people are completely bewildered (sound familiar). A day in the life of covering Tottenham for you there.
Levy should be sacked over all this

who is gonna sack him? he has a huge stake in the club. he wont sack himself

Just read back on some of the comments. So the Italian director of football you "appointed" last week isn't the case anymore? It's now Mendes?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Our new DOF Paratici likes signing old has beens on huge wages and Mendes likes to provide these with his 30% parasite fee on top. Levy is stuck upstairs staring at his photo of him and Jose on the skywalk
Gattuso in the prem will be fantastic entertainment. Hope he slaps Arteta’s lego head in the NLD.

those belllends also reported the other deals as being done. clueless the lot of them. couple rumours plus a bit of guess work plus a quick chat to some contact somewhere and then these guys post tweets with an irresponsible degree of certainty

That's not true though - they said we were trying to make Poch happen but PSG weren't having it (true) and that we were agreeing terms with conte but eventually talks stalled (true)

Does Gattuso fit our DNA then?
Know nothing about him as a manager, but going by his playing style I would be surprised if he is a free flowing football kind of guy.
No offence lads but this is beyond banter. One of the richest clubs (well certainly top 10 I imagine) behaving like rank amateurs in trying to appoint a manager.

If there's any truth to this it's absolutely outrageous. He's not even officially in the job and Paratici is dragging us through the mud. I could get it if it was Conte that had just become available, but Gattuso? The whole lot of them can get facked.
