i think the difference last night was in defence and mainly tierney, also thought hanley was a rock and was my motm.
gilmour was immense though, thought the whole team played well which helps.

Don't take this as anti-Gilmour but is this not the crux?
So many Scotland players meriting mentions that don't normally - Hanley, McGregor, O'Donnell amongst others. Cart and horse - Did Gilmour (or KT for that matter) inspire the performance or did the performance make Gilmour look good? Ditto for any of the other players that played well? Or just were England scheite?
FWIW I can't comment much as didn't take the game in - was a bit pashed and had guests that insisted on talking through the whole game such that I may as well have been in the pub which I don't enjoy for a game I want to watch and appreciate.
Great to see O'Donnell girfuy the critics. Sand dancer 'world class' Sterling was largely anonymous down to him and McTominay doing the hard yards yet he still contributed up top - down to Sterling being a lazy prrick too.
Not getting excited - Croatia will likely up their game and that was our cup final last night.
Well done all, including Gilmour.

Nonsense aside, I thought his wee battles against Mount were great to watch.. Couple of times tracking him a good 20 yards and winning the ball back
That ref was again appalling. He got with it after about a 30m that this wasn't two poncy latin countries falling over all the time and began to let them just play but by fck that man ruins so many games.

Gilmour for me was a strange one, I always felt he'd do well if picked, and was happy to see his name on the team sheet, I just didn't agree with the argument that he deserved to be picked, him McGregor and McGinn completely dominated the English midfield.

Gilmour wasn't only standout.
A player I hate seeing on the pitch Hanley was great. Very strong performance.
Adams and dykes worked well. Again though would like to see both be a bit more clinical or maybe just they were out of luck
