Kane needs a good game against Czech Republic (if he starts). All the other decent players appear to be doing their bit in this tournament except him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure I understand how you arrive at this assessment Spurtle?
People like Schick have had better service plus his second goal against Scotland was a one off but brilliant too. Other teams play to their strengths, England do not. Playing pedantic back passing football might be alright if you have a De Bruyne, Hazard etc, but we do not have anyone of that class in our midfield, they should be playing high paced and more direct football.
Phillips had a good game against Croatia, our midfield against Scotland was non existent and as their job is to supply Kane they failed abysmally. We have scored one goal so far…….
Kane did not have a good game in either match, however if you look at the service he did not receive then maybe it is understandable. Sterling, apart from his goal, has been poor. Foden has been okay but we seem to think the team has loads of top players, sadly we don’t. Only Kane, Foden, Sanch and possibly Grealish would comfortably get into the squads of other teams.
England’s problems stem from a manager who makes irrational team selections, for instance picking a right back to play left back, even though he has two very good left backs in the squad.
Waiting until it is too late to bring on substitutes, thus not giving them the chance or time to adjust to the pace of play. Leaving Lingard out of the squad when has been possibly the most in form player in the PL over the last few months of the season.
100m will buy us 2 above average players in this market.
Kane is definitely worth much more than 100M.
If thats all city can afford then tough luck
I think he'll go myself and don't think it'll be anywhere near £150m either.
I hope I'm wrong though fwiw.
Doubt anyone is paying £150m for a 28yo, off form and clubs recovering from covid?
They’ll get it back with Haaland. Not Kane.

Southgate is rubbish and the service is not great but Kane needs to do more when he has the ball. Maybe do more to receive it seeing as he likes to drop deep these days. It's not all his fault and he doesn't have much pace like some of the others but we keep saying how good he is at Spurs and he himself wants to be the best and move away to win things and better himself.
Has anyone even considered Spurs financial constraints? There’s a stadium to be paid off. So yes, £150M would be great but if no one is willing to pay that. At the end of day, whether you guys keep him or not, it’s unlikely that you’ll manage a CL spot next season with United, City, Liverpool and Chelsea being so far ahead. Money will need to come from somewhere.

Kane will see out his contract. Don't think anyone would make a bid close to what Levy would want for him. He's that important to Spurs that they'd want 150m yet he wouldn't be worth that much to any team that wants and could afford him.
The only way out is to see out his contract.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your lot might panic spunk - yours is the only club I’m afraid of paying Levy’s price. It wouldn’t surprise me to see you lot panic near deadline day and then give us Greenwood on loan for the season
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I doubt that would even happen, even in a panic state (the last two panic signings were a Nigerian striker from the Chinese league and a mid-30s from the French league on a freebie). We didn't even cough up for Sancho last season and he was the main player we were in for. Maybe 3 years ago you'd be right. But even then I don't see us signing 2 players for over 200m.
Kane made a mistake in signing that contract. Bet he's regretting it now, especially when he knows he'd win nothing at Spurs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you got 100m to spend, you got a choice of an 28 year old who has injuries all the time or a young and up coming striker in Haaland. Out of the two, the latter would be cheaper and a longer term investment. Haaland would be half the price of Kane, and especially in the current climate, makes for a much better deal.
Kane will have to see out his contract.

Iirc rumours are Haaland has a £68m release clause but only after next summer? That being the case Dortmund will sell this year and get twice that.

Haaland has had one good season, he may never replicate that again. Kane I think has had about six good seasons, and all in the Prem. Haaland is not proven at all in the Prem. Werner was supposed to be the second coming and has proved a massive flop. If I was spending big money, it would be Kane all day long.
100m is a starting offer, not final...no matter what they say.
Maybe they'll throw in a couple of players?
How about 100m plus Gabriel Jesus?
