I gather that in some countries / leagues they haven't vaccinated players yet, which (while they are younger than average) seems INSANE to me. If you're regularly mixing with people in other bubbles, travelling internationally, etc., you're more likely to be exposed to the virus, and more likely to spread it. It's not a case of pampered young athletes jumping the queue - it's about the chances of them moving the virus around and spreading it to other people. But even beyond that, they are multi-million £ assets. Why wouldn't their clubs protect their investments?
On another note, Gilmour looks a really good prospect. If he's not finding opportunities into the Chelsea team, like Tammy Abraham, the humane thing to do would be to release him from his West London nightmare and allow him to come to United.
The English government rejected an FA plea to vaccinate their players ahead of the tournament.
The English government approved the plan of vaccinating the British and Irish Lions. The justification for this is that they felt it would be beneficial for the Union (i don't mean the rugby code) to have the Lions playing together.
I am actually stunned that all players haven't been vaccinated.

Is that so? I hadn't heard about that. Really shouldn't be up to national government to intervene in matters like this - especially such a flawed government prone to playing symbolic politics as ours. That said, I'm assuming the UK government wouldn't have jurisdiction over the Scottish FA.
I thought I read that a lot of players are against a jab because they feel it will have an effect on their performance. So would rather take it in the summer break where they have more time to recover.
Didn’t covid cases sky rocket in Cornwall just after the G7 meeting?
What will be more interesting will be how the government react to the threat of UEFA moving the final stages of the competition to Hungary unless we let in fans and delegates in their thousands without the need to isolate.
I’ll be watching with interest.
The mad magyars fans held up an anti LGBT banner the other day and then they held up an anti kneeling banner yesterday.
Not sure UEFA will risk a showing up in Budapest or maybe they will risk it for the blazers jolly-up.

What I don't get is how players are catching it.
I live in Portugal and Brits are coming here in droves partying in caves, packing into bars and next to no one is testing positive (at the airport to go home). So how are so many footballers doing so in such controlled environments?

Not sure if the SFA asked the Scottish Government for vaccines but wouldn't imagine Sturgeon would have given special dispensation for football.

As the facts show, there is no ''immunity'' from these experimental drugs.
It's morons like TUX who the government was indulging when they twice failed to take measures while case numbers were low but exponentially rising. Fortunately, the UK public proved far more sensible than our leaders, and our science-led trust in vaccinations is responsible for the dramatic drop in infections and mortality.
