Need Big Papa Wengz back as DoF. Slap some sense into Arteta

I'm still baffled that we have retained Arteta having sacked Emery for less than Arteta has done.
As for the rest of the article, stop being so melodramatic. We were on a downward spiral when Wenger left. He was supported with money in his last 5 or so years at the club and spent it on so much garbage (with ridiculous wages too) while the likes of Liverpool and Spurs leapfrogged us with more intelligent business.
Guendouzi is not exactly pulling up trees on loan and has had disciplinary issues in the past before Arsenal. Nobody knows if William Saliba is any good. AMN is a mid-table player at best (will never get people's weird fascination with him). Martinelli came back from a long-term injury and in his minutes on the pitch, has struggled to make an impact. I'm more bothered by Arteta's inability to coach fluent football than his treatment of any particular player.
The poor performances of managers after Wenger is irrelevant to the fact Wenger not only deserved the sack, he should have been sacked far earlier. At least, we might have gotten Klopp before Liverpool got their hands on him.

What do you make of Palace appointing Favre? Top10 finish?
The mistake was keeping the hapless Wenger so long, he should have gone when we finally won the FA Cup the first time after such a drought, but he clung on like a limpet and the incremental decline continued - by the time he left our ability to win away was so bad it was relegation form…π
Lets remember Wenger brought players like Mustafi for 35 mill, a player that Valencia couldn’t give away for free and a player that even relegated schalke didn’t want in the end. I think this article is a bit premature , shall we see what actually transpires in the coming weeks. Who comes in, who leaves. It’s just hear say and optimistic journalists spouting rumours.
How many times have we said “wait and see” with the transfer market? When will Arsenal fans learn.
Also yes, at any other club, Wenger had to go at least 5 years before he finally did. But no other club has owners as inept as ours who somehow manage to find even worse replacements. When Artitler eventually does get sacked we all know his predecessor is gonna be another clown
Couple of things.
Firstly, I agree this is on KSE. Whether we like Arteta or not, the guy is obviously not trying to put his job in jeopardy by takings risks - you only have to watch the way we play to understand that. And this is where he, and the supporters, are being let down again by the owners and Edu.
Someone needs to remind Arteta of:
i) our current financial situation - giving him north of £100m for transfers would be irresponsible at the moment. £250m is mind blowingly dumb.
ii) the true ‘Arsenal way’ - sadly, there is no longer anyone at the club that remembers this. Which is ironic, seeing as one of the positive angles of Arteta and Edu coming in, even untested as they were, was the hope they would bring a continuity of this.
iii) the reason he got the job in the first place wasn’t because of his managerial record (he had none) but because of his, supposed, coaching ability. So coach then!
Also needs pointing out, to my mind at least, Wenger’s youth development record at Arsenal is a bit overstated. Yes, he mightn’t have had the same quality youth coming through from Hale End as we currently do, but he also made plenty of mistakes with young players he had - Cole was on the brink of leaving, until Sylvinho had his ‘passport issues’. Wilshere was totally overplayed way too young. Gnabry not enough. Those are just the obvious examples.
Should also be considered, of the clubs we’re trying to compete with - both on the field and in the way they do business - Liverpool’s current U23s are streets ahead of ours, and I’m not sure many of them have had too many first team chances so far - though that’s a point I’m happy to defer to someone else on.
This is a bit dramatic I love Wenger but he was gonna go soon either way at his age. Saka, ESR are the only top talents from our academy, the rest of our youth gets hyped because we all want them to make it with us but the reality is they're mid/lower level PL players. Willock deserves a chance, the rest are squad players if that. Guendouzi is trash. Saliba seems to be hyped by Arsenal twitter for his ball skills and dribbling past a few players. We have by far the worst squad we've had in decades and fans are actually moaning that we could be spending big, this team desperately needs investment. And Arteta's signings have been alright tbf even if he hasn't got the best out of them.

Nah Saliba really is an incredible talent and it's not because of his dribbling skills.
You're spot on, I feel your pain. Arteta is a complete disaster. My fear is he will end up driving our Hale End youngsters away from the club
