England’s was definitely not just another dull win. Was some very good attacking football the first half.

Pretty dull team though. I just looked at the stats, only five shots from England, sounds pretty dull to me.

Modric doesn't have the legs to do it week in week out anymore. Spurs are better off using that Kane money on someone like Tielemans

posted on 23/6/21

Was good to see that Modric still has it in him, which makes his perfirmance against England all the more surprising.

Going by yesterday he certainly does. It was his third full game a row. Absolutely no sign his legs have gone.

Yup, I think that was just a one off poor game for Modric and Croatia.

We had a pretty good first half. Players seemed to have some energy and enthusiasm and played well

At half time Southgate said "that's enough of that" and we went back to the boring cowardly football we played in the other games.

I cannot see this England squad standing up to any of
France, Hungary, Belgium, Italy, Netherlands, Germany..... maybe we can give Spain, Portugal, or Denmark a game, but even that is doubtful.

There is some talent in the side, but overall it is not good enough and the manager is woeful. No excuse for that second half!

We are miles better than Hungary and would beat them without a shadow of a doubt and Denmark aren’t very good either.

The games have been dull, but we’ve won the group. This is the point I’m going to start judging Southgate and this England side

Watching a bit of Real this year, and it does seem obvious that he is on the decline.

Still a great player at his best though.

I was flicking between the 2 games but the 2nd half of the England game would of bored the t1ts off a donkey so I stuck with the Scotland match.

Modric was great but I think the Scottish players were knackered and gave him the freedom of the pitch.

i did flick between the games too 2nd half

1st half was encouraging for England and a lot better - could have been 3 or 4 up.
2nd half was usually hanging on and killing the game rubbish, boring and painful.

worked out quite well as the 2nd half in the Scotland game was in contrast a good watch.

Modric ran the show, he's a class act.

I actually think a decent coach can make Hojbjerg Lo Celso and Ndombele a formidable midfield 3.

The problem is the bench. Skipp and another CM (8) needs to be recruited.

We are 2/3 x CBs away from challenging. If we bought nothing else 2xCBs is a must

Modric was night and day compared to anything else on our pitch last night and that includes all his team mates.

Always in clear space, lovely sublime touches, simple and accurate passes, never got into daft tackles and never was in a position to be tackled. Total control and a wonderful strike for their second.

1 or 2 CBS, a RB and a third goal scoring forward from challenging i would say

oh and also a great coach, cant even get a coach though

Are you English Sandy?

I can't figure out why you would watch the Scotland v Croatia game unless you were from either of those two nations or were neutral on account of not being either English or Czech. I don't get avoiding watching a tournament England game if you're English, however dull they are to watch. I'll absolutely jump between the games tonight as they're both big but if I were French, for example, I'd absolutely only watch the Portugal v France game.

You managed a season and a half under Jose, I'm sure you can put up with this tripe currently being served up by the England team.

Why avoid them? Or are you one of those club only types that isn't bothered by the national team? Not criticising as I hate an international break during a football season but I love getting behind the England team at major tournaments. Right now it takes the focus off the mess going on at the lane.

I think Bergwijn can be the 3rd goal scoring forward to replace Bale in starting line up. Alli can deputise. If we sell Lamela we should replace

If we sell Sissoko and Winks then we replace with Sabitzer

If we sell Aurier we replace with Celik or Aarons however Doherty could regain his form if we play a back 3.

Of course I am English. But doesn't mean I should be forced to watch dross. I never quite get why you have to be nationalistic and follow the country you were born in. I am not into International football much these days, so just watch what I think may be the best game.

It always makes me laugh when the media talk about England supporters. You support your club side, with the national team you are whatever country you come from there is no choice.

Kay Burley summed up what most of these presenters know about football the other morning when she said that she hoped the Eng v Scot game didn't go to pens.

Spurs always come before England. I was lucky to be at Wembley in 1966, but I have admired Brazil 1958 and 1970 teams, the Dutch team of the 1970s, the Argentina team of Kempes and Ardilles, the French team of the 1990s. Internationally I just have no preference. With Spurs however bad they play they get my support. Difference between club and country.
