Such an uninspiring, unexciting, underwhelming appointment.
He was available weeks ago, but Paratici wanted Fonseca and the Gattuso. Why didn’t we move for Nuno then if he was ‘the man’? So clearly a compromise choice. He’s free and he’s a Mendes client, so ticks a box each for Levy and Paratici. He also plays dreary football and was binned off by Wolves.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He wasn’t binned by Wolves, he left them
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He was binned off and this was off the back of a new contract last year too

A slither of optimism from Ali Gold:
Football.london understands that during discussions Paratici showed Levy the way Espirito Santo's entertaining Valencia side played, more often with a 4-4-2 and 4-3-3 than the back three he became known for at Wolves.
It is understood that during talks it was made clear by both Paratici and Espirito Santo that the football the Portuguese would bring to Tottenham would tick the attacking, entertaining boxes Levy had called for while also, at the same time, being strong at the back.
Espirito Santo has shown a willingness to adapt to the personnel he has and clubs he has worked at in his career and this is believed to be the case once again at Tottenham. His desire to work with young players and help develop Tottenham's talents in their academy was also believed to be a plus for the club during talks.

To be fair he as at Valencia for only just over a year so I wouldnt read too much inti his time there
Rather Nuno than Slipper G, but yes slightly underwhelmed, though he knows the PL, will give him a chance but he will be pishing into the wind working under Levy and ENIC

Everton lost a manager out of the blue 4 weeks ago and have replaced him before preseason,Spurs chose to sack their manager 10 weeks ago and are still nowhere near replacing him.

Yeah it was released as mutual and I think Nuno agreed to leave. However, since the announcement it has come out that the owners nearly sacked him earlier in the season and had decided they wanted to go in a different direction next season. Nuno had vetoed a number of signings (Dani Olmo is one example) who had gone on to be stars elsewhere, was rumoured to be quite grumpy around the club and players had been questioning his methods and tactics.
He did an excellent job for us, but it is more likely he was pushed and agreed to leave than anything else.

Rather Nuno than Slipper G, but yes slightly underwhelmed, though he knows the PL, will give him a chance but he will be pishing into the wind working under Levy and ENIC

As if Gerard would take the job
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He seems to have let the chance slip

It's not going to be Benitez has he's Everton's new manager.
Everton lost a manager out of the blue 4 weeks ago and have replaced him before preseason,Spurs chose to sack their manager 10 weeks ago and are still nowhere near replacing him.
What is going on at Spurs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We didn’t want Benitez?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Your club fired a manager and haven't replaced him after 10 weeks,Everton lost a manager out of the blue, but have replaced him within 4 weeks.
When clubs sack managers they normally have a plan in mind.Don't see any sort of plan from Levy,do you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Who needs a manager anyway
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree, managers are well overrated.
When was the last time a manager scored a goal?

Such an uninspiring, unexciting, underwhelming appointment.
He was available weeks ago, but Paratici wanted Fonseca and the Gattuso. Why didn’t we move for Nuno then if he was ‘the man’? So clearly a compromise choice. He’s free and he’s a Mendes client, so ticks a box each for Levy and Paratici. He also plays dreary football and was binned off by Wolves.

He wasn’t binned by Wolves, he left them

You keep telling yourself that, if it makes you feel better.

Not that I particularly care, St. Mirren once sacked Sir Alex Ferguson.
I’m pretty sure that Nuno will be a 2 season stock gap until the Poch returns

So we should be more like Everton? Stinking money up the ESL just to finish outside the European spots season after season and not winning a trophy since Only fools and horses was on TV?

Yeah it was released as mutual and I think Nuno agreed to leave. However, since the announcement it has come out that the owners nearly sacked him earlier in the season and had decided they wanted to go in a different direction next season. Nuno had vetoed a number of signings (Dani Olmo is one example) who had gone on to be stars elsewhere, was rumoured to be quite grumpy around the club and players had been questioning his methods and tactics.
He did an excellent job for us, but it is more likely he was pushed and agreed to leave than anything else.
