He's a category 1 world class player and 73m is a bargain. Guy is outrageously good.

So good he cannot get in an average England side.

He is better than any Spurs player and he's been left out because he wanted to join United.

Players coming from Germany have a patchy record. Keita was like Iniesta and then you have the likes of Werner and Havertz who flopped in the PL. Even some like Riess Nelson was scoring in Germany and now he can't even get in the Arsenal squad.

He is an improvement on Dan James though.

Son overrated did nothing end part of season.

No he isn’t. Kane is the best striker in Europe you delusional mess. Son is the better player currently. You haven’t got a clue. 2 good seasons in the Bundesliga doesn’t make Sancho better than Kane

Very very good player

I think he'll do well.

I don't think he'll be as good as Salah or anything like that, but he will give us a genuine threat in a position we've needed to add to for years, as well as being an option across the other positions in the front line.

Factor in his age too and potential for long service to the club, as well as being English and less likely to want to leave to go abroad in a couple of years then I don't think the fee is ridiculous considering his career record to date in a good league and the CL too for someone still some way off their peak years.

I don't think we'll look back in 6 years and consider it a rip off at all, even if he doesn't become the next Ronaldo which some fans will expect him to be purely based on the price which is irrelevant.

the suggestion that sancho is a better footballer than kane is humorous, and took away any credibility whatsoever you had as a poster.

just on sancho.. i have only seen him limited times (and only once live when he played at wembley for spurs for dortmund), and he does have ability, but I did always find the hype around him a bit too much for what he seemed to produce on the pitch...

however, i respect a young player leaving england to go and play football eslewhere, and that will stand him in good stead.

like i said, 73m probably about right considering age and nationality

Sancho may prove to be decent, over the next decade, but right now it is only promise.

Never seen him as much as kick a ball to be honest.

"I did always find the hype around him a bit too much for what he seemed to produce on the pitch"

I understand your point because I've only really seen him for England and haven't really 'got it', but then surely we've just not seen enough games , as it's what he's produced on the pitch (goals/assists) that's got him the hype?

I can't see why else there would be hype around him, like some players score a few absolute worldies and get hyped up, or a great performance in a one off big game, or a run of good performances on route to a cup win etc but fail to deliver afterwards. His 'hype' has been based on consistently delivering goals and assists season after season from a young age.

Worth it just to get this story off the Sky news scheduled content.

Maybe, just maybe they might now talk about something that doesn't have a Utd theme. You can but hope.

The only argument is whether people think the German league is a good league or a poor/farmers league, and whether they think he will be able to perform in the PL.

Saying that right now it's only 'potential' or 'promise' is just wrong, it would be better to just admit you don't know much about him, and haven't watched him often enough so don't really have much of an opinion in it, as I've had to do.

Bundesliga - 104 appearances
38 goals / 51 assists

German cup - 11 appearances
6 goals / 6 assists

Champions League - 21 appearances
5 goals / 6 assists

He's still only 21.

I think, as already pointed out, the hype is justified purely because of his ridiculously good numbers at such a young age.

I know football has changed, but he's predominantly a right winger. We used to hype up Aaron Lennon, and rightly so, he was a good player, but I'd wager Sancho is already getting close to the same amount of league goals and assists that Lennon had in his whole career, and he's only 21!

If you want a more recent comparison, try Lamela. Again, I'd wager Sancho is already close to his numbers.

😅 sandy wind it in. Haaland is easily worth more than kane. Kids broke records for the last couple of years and has his whole career ahead of him.

Kanes decent but coming to the end of his career. Cannot believe for one second a.manager would pick Kane over Haaland. Euros certainly haven't done Levy any favours trying to get 100 million + for Kane.

I think that's a fair comment. I don't expect him to produce the sort of numbers he has at Dortmund but if he even got say, 10 goals and a similar number of assists in all competitions, it would be a very decent first season. Time will tell
