Started 4 league games from when Martinelli returned in the 15th game of the season. Martinelli started twice as many. One is a favourite and one is an outcast
Players like Martinelli and Saliba, should they? even if their attitude and application are shocking?
How is their application and attitude shocking? Martinelli is one of the hardest working, professional, humble players around. The only reason he doesn't play more is his fitness, probably from trying too hard.
Arteta wants his own players

19 year old kids not getting first team games = attitude problems.
Seems the only logical conclusion
Only the Manchester clubs got more points since Christmas:
City 64, United 48, Arsenal 47.
The start to the season was horrendous so we were always playing catch up. But it was turned around, and who knows what effect malaria had on Aubameyang before it was diagnosed.
In fact the whole season was strange.

Anyone who watched Martinelli would know he's one if the hardest workers in the team he puts a lot of them to shame. It's no coincidence that pretty much every player brought in by the previous regime is gone or going. Guendouzi, Torreira, Sokratis add in Saliba not getting a look in Martinelli not being given a consistent run of starts. There is an arrogance there by the current regime they are saying we'll we didn't buy them so they can't be good enough, clear for all to see.

Sokratis and Torreira were bad signings, were on the way out under Emery.
Tierney, Leno, Pepe all in first XI. Martinelli can't play when injured, hardly surprising he doesn't get a consistent run of starts.

Torriera had a decent start to his career at Arsenal faded a bit but then didn't get a chance under Arteta granted it seemed like Torreira wanted to leave but maybe given a consistent run of games to prove himself it might have been a different story. Pepe was hardly getting any consistent run of starts at the beginning of the season but through his own hard work and good level of consistency it's made it nearly impossible to drop him. With Leno you've got to ask the question why are we supposedly looking at Ramsdale he's a dreadful keeper. Martinelli had been fit for a long time and still wasn't getting consistent starts, we played the biggest game of the season against Villareal without a forward when Martinelli was available. The proof is there for all to see.
Emery tried to turn Torreira into a #10, that's how unsuited he was to the PL. Was getting absolutely bullied week in week out. Blaming Arteta for that when it happened under Emery is laughable.
Pepes form under Emery was poor. Arteta made him fight for his place.
"Supposedly" - and we need a #2.
Martinelli can't stay fit for a consistent run. He was just 19, picking up injury after injury after moving from Brazil 4th tier to PL. Maybe, just maybe, his long term future was being protected.

Emery deciding to play Torriera as a 10 was the result of frazzled mind and a guy who knew his time was up and was just trying anything and everything to get a tune out of the team which he couldn't do. I go back to the Villareal game you've got a striker available and you chose not to use him it's madness plain simple. If you believe Saliba he's not even been told why he has not been given a chance.
Nah, that was in Emerys full season, not at the end. When Torreira was spending 90% of the match on the floor looking hopefully at the ref while the game continued.

He doesn’t play because Arteta doesn’t rate/like him. Will most likely not be an Arsenal player next season
While I agree that Arteta has to proof himself this season and fast, I do feel some people have made their mind up and no matter how well he does, they'll want him gone. All so they can be right.
I'd rather be wrong about Arteta and Arsenal succeed personally
I just hope this summer works out for us in terms of acquiring our targets. We bidded for Buendia and missed out on him. We also missed out on Onana (going to Inter Milan), looks like we will miss out on signing Locatelli (if those reports were ever genuine), missed out on Soumare / Camavinga (arguable that we were ever genuinely interested, but we had been linked with both) and reports are circulating that we may also not be able to meet the asking price for Ben White.
I would feel underwhelmed if we start next season with a bunch of 3rd and 4th choice signings whilst our main targets went elsewhere. But let’s see.
Don't buy into Arteta's "blame the players for my mistakes and failings," BS please. The past season exposed Arteta as shockingly rude, arrogant beyond belief, a bully, severely lacking in tactical ability, vendetta-like toward the established Arsenal brand and 100% incapable of taking any responsibility for his mistakes. Whilst we have a manager who behaves like that, it really doesn't matter who he sells or brings in to the club. The outcome is going to be the same if he is left in charge. A season of dire lacklustre performances due to a squad that's absolutely miserable because the manager is totally incompetent and a total with it.
Feck waiting half a season, fans need to be screaming for his head from the first opportunity until he's gone. This is Arsenal FC and any manager who does not want to play attacking football, has no business here anyway. That's the worst thing about his presence being at all tolerated by the fanbase. His incompetence, indignance and shocking attitude aside, the dude is absolutely pssg all over what PL Arsenal is meant to stand for. FREE FLOWING, ATTACKING FOOTBALL!

It was at the end not in his full season. When Emery was forced by dumbass Ozil fanboys to put the useless back in the team. His move from DM was the other casualty of Ozil's being returned along with Geun being dropped altogether. ke being too cheap to replace or pay Ramsey probably played it's part too.
Emery's full season saw Torriera looking the part with him second to only Kante in play-breaking. We simply questioned whether he was big enough, ability and heart were never in doubt at DM (he was Coq but with passing ability). Both he and Guen had breakout seasons for the full one. It's such a shame that Emery panicked after two games and caved to the fanboys. If he'd just kept faith a few more games the I've no doubt the pair would have begun to replicate their previous seasons form, improving it. But he didn't and here we are.

Exactly, his definition of how the game should be played is a hideous monstrosity of boredom. Regardless who he brings in and how good they are we're destined to play the game in a way that has us bored as hell for 80-85 mins of every game we watch, just like this season gone it'll be a yawn a minute..
I don't want to see our CBs and WBs passing the ball among themselves more than they pass if forward. Arteta's football is a sh !tfest and furthermore is psses all over what this club is meant to stand for. If his way of playing is the price of success then I'll HAPPILY weight a few more years ta.
So damned right I want him to fail and fast. Better still if the AFC fanbase would just feckin grow a pair and hound his ass out rapidly as they should have months ago. REGARDLESS WHAT HIS EARLY 21/22 RESULTS SAY!
