probably because Origis staying, to not be used again despite bobby firmino failing to hit a bard door for 15 games in a row. yaay
Them bard doors are hard to hit to be fair!
And top clubs often let smaller clubs sign players from abroad before getting them .
Have to see how they do in the league first.
Act the billy big balls all you like but the simple fact is that if Liverpool wanted him, we’d have got him.

You've either misread my OP or are looking for a JA scrap, if its the latter sorry I'm not really interested. As I posted we can't beat Liverpool to a player, some players are cautious over being a bit part player, I bet Shaquri regrets joining you and I recall wanting Leicester to sign him at the time you did

Voice - I tend to agree that if true, we wouldn’t necessarily have won the race to sign him. Even if that’s the case, we did win it so let’s see how well he settles in and, hopefully, shines.
I haven’t read the article you posted so apologies if it’s stated why Liverpool might have decided against Daka, but doesn’t mean they didn’t want to sign him I guess
How embarrassing for KLS!

FFS KLS
Liverpool had their hands burnt with Minamino from that league so whilst Daka might have the attributes they want, they’re happy to let Leicester take the risk and see how he adapts to the prem.
Unlike Soumaré who I expect to hit the ground running, I do think we’ve signed Daka with a view that we can bed in in slowly over the next 2 seasons as we manage Vardy’s game time and recovery.
We would clearly never beat Liverpool to a signing, but as we’ve seen with Fofana, Soyuncu and Castagne, we can spend time selling the benefits of the development and game time at our club, with the view to moving on. We seem to be happy to bring in young top talent for 20-30m and accepting that we’ll lose them in 3-4 years after developing them into top players.
It’s working at the minute, so no complaints for me on that strategy.

My point on "Shaq" is I didn't really think he was good enough to be a frontline main Liverpool striker and it would appear by his limited appearances neither does Klopp. I read that he was looking for a move to get more game time, some players are happy to be a bit part player others would rather drop down in terms of profile of club to get on the pitch.
Still not looking for a JA scrap
It was probably six of one, half a dozen of another. I'm sure the player would have preferred Liverpool and CL football over Leicester and EL football but he'd have also wanted assurance on a good amount of game time and whilst he is still young he will want to keep progressing and moving on with his career rather than it coming to a stand still and just staying as a squad player for the entirety of his career (like a certain Belgium striker at Liverpool).

Not according to Shakiri himself.
Does Daka actually play for Zambia? If so that might have been a reason due to having both Mane and Salah on AFCON duty too.
Probably was to be fair, was hammered last night !

i dont think zambia qualified, they arent very good
I think it's simply the case that all teams have to prioritise transfer targets. I've no idea whether the links to Liverpool were true, but he could've been number 29 on their list whereas he was number one or two on ours.
In all likelihood he'd have been competing with Origi to be first reserve at Anfield. At Leicester he's only really competing with Iheanacho to be Vardy's natural successor.
If he had been Liverpool's primary target and they'd pursued him aggressively, he wouldn't be with us now.
