He's playing in a system that does not necessarily play to his strengths. We do not get too many high crosses into the box, our attack is slower possession based rather than quick counter. It plays more to his creative side as one who can drop deep and have the pacey wide players run beyond him - like our first goal.

For this reason he hasn't shone as a striker but he has been a real team player and while may be not our stand out performer he has been absolutely essential to our system and our success where the likes of Rashford or DCL simply do not have the qualities to play this role.

I get that and i understand he's doing a slightly different role for England.
I'm not saying he's chit, or been playing chit, he's been good, but his overall performances have been ok. i've not seeing anything 'world class' from him in this tournament,apart from the shot in the last game and yesterday's pass for Saka.

In that order for me. Kane is getting his goals in knockout games against the better teams and his creative play is invaluable. England are unlikely to have another striker at Kanes level for decades, we should enjoy him now

Pickford had an excellent opening 4 games. His erratic side slightly returned in the Ukraine game and yesterday in particular. I hope he calms down for the final.

It is 4 goals in 6 games though. .We cannot just ignore the first two and a half games where he was awful. Others have been great in every game. If you're talking knock outs, he has been our second best player. Overall though, I think it is harsh to put him ahead of the likes of Shaw and Stones.

But, 4 goals in 6 tournament games is still impressive isn't it?

Kyle Walker gave the best defensive performance for England last night in the whole tournament. Going forward he looked scared to cross it but defensively the likes of Stones, Maguire and Shaw owe him alot.
