£150k a year to run a country of 67m?

Ok the sums may be slightly out and don’t include expenses but you get the drift.

the only way I would feel it agreeable to uplift the MPs wages if there were some standards and actual accountability.

The parties all put forward their preferred candidate and being an MP is rarely about being the right person for the role.

I genuinely do not believe that upping the salary by 3 or 4x and we will have a list of amazing candidates. We'd have the same self serving coonts we have but they'd be earning more.

Yup, the money is more than enough for the decision makers and pontificators that have shown zero accountability when policies turn out wrong. The people that turn policy into practice might (might) deserve it but not the politicos.

And see if they whine about 100 hour weeks how much of that is actually deciding what to do and is it efficient or, as I said, just pontificating over reports compiled by others, phannying about whether it makes them more or less electable and inventing the spion they'll use to justify the whole fkn shambles?

the stadium thing again?

It's not just saying 60k should be allowed in there are lots of steps that take those people to the stadium, transport, passing shops, pubs both to and from the game.

I hope none of you ever had to risk access an event.
