Jimmy bowling good lengths gets 5/60.

The other seamers bowling short went 4/241.

Doesn't take a genius to work out which method is best yet we somehow keep failing to learn.

Has anyone had this many test matches to average so little? 25th match and averaging 26.5. Even that hugely inflated by one innings.

Not to mention he gets out the same way most matches.

Barely even averages above 30 at first class level. Terrible player.

Cricviz said he has the lowest average of any English opener in history who's played as many games as he has.

He averages 21 when opening.

It'll be tough from here but I still think we can turn this one around.

I didn't expect much from the openers anyway. If the middle order get going, we can still get over 350.

India's top order has been unreliable for a few years now, it's always their middle and lower order bailing them out (even in that series they won in Australia, their top order usually failed).

If we can get close to their 1st innings score, the pressure will be on their batsman again, and they could crack and give us a very chase-able total. It happened to them in South Africa recently.

Just rewatching that Broad over and despite the carnage, a wicket could have fallen 4 times top edge for 6, inside edge for 4, almost thumped his leg into the stumps with a wild hack for 4 and then the dug out yorker which could have been a run out. Good fun though which is what tailenders batting should be. No one wants to see them actually be able to bat properly.
