Romero then replace the other centrebacks once we sell them.
Why would you by average or above average players when you’re able to buy exceptional players
Hence why teams like Chelsea win things and we don’t,
It’s taken them about 4 hours to agree Kounde whilst we haggle over a few million
I also think Agents use us so technically unless we go for release clause players we might always be gazumped by champs league clubs with deep owner pockets.
I want all three of them.
Sell Sanchez, Aurier and Sissoko to offset the net spend abit. Those three should fetch €45m odd.
Kounde off to Chelsea, raging inside, hope he flops
My gut feeling is we will sell Harry Kane, so will be able to afford all of them.
Everything is pointing to a deal for Kane, City are not signing any other forward because they will get Kane in the end.
Spurs have set a price for Kane, and if it is met he will be allowed to leave. We`ll have 2 weeks after the City game to replace him and complete our transfer business.
All this nonsense about having no intention of selling him is just hot air to force the price up and to avoid clubs knowing we will have money to burn.
Vintage Levy.

Have you scouted him alot? How does he compare to Toby, Sanchez or Dier?
Our problem is going for 2/3 average players thinking they can amount to 1 great player. Id rather have 1 great and 1 rubbish than 2 average.
It's weird how all details of our offers are leaked. It's like an auction to invite other bids. Paratici and Levy need to close on deals they want before they get their financial offers exposed.

As long as he is better than Dier I'm all for it.
Spurs ITKers now suggesting Spurs might be in for Koulibaly or De Vrij, which seems improbable
To answer the OP, Romero. Get the best player for the position even if it costs more.
Here's the Levy factor screw--wing things up again...

Fair enough. We should be at a level now where we just make 2 statement signings every summer and see where this gets us. I hope Romero is as good as everyone thinks.
I would take Romero & Milenkovic... we’ve already sold Toby, Sanchez is on his way to out too...
We won’t be able to shift Dier, because no one will want to buy him...
Wish we’d accepted that £50m from Jose at Man Utd!!!
We will still need a right back, once Aurier goes
Since the last game at old WHL in 2017 when we had Walker, Trippier, Toby, Verts and Rose, this is what has happened in the last 4 years.
They have now all gone for a total of £83m
This is what they have left behind
Sanchez £42m (now looking to sell)
Aurier £23m (wants out/looking to sell)
Sessegnon £25m (then loaned out)
Reguilon £28m (not guaranteed to keep with)
Doherty £15m (from Wolves)
Rodon £11m (from Swansea)
Dier (converted from DM)
Tanganga (promoted from youth)
Total £144m / Net £61m
Include Foyth who was sold with a profit of £5m makes £56m net (£14m per year)
The club have not exactly excelled and stretched themselves when it comes to maintaining the defensive class of 2017.
They owe the team and defence big time and Romero has to be delivered at the asking price if necessary.

We still need one more defender after Romero. The joke is Tomiyasu saves us on buying a RB. So why don't we use that saving and just get Romero done?
Lots of options and solutions available
Do you think Romero is coming?
Watch Levy screeeeeewww it up!
"Tottenham remain in talks to sign Argentina centre-back Cristian Romero, 23, but are unwilling to meet Atalanta's £47m asking price. (Guardian)"
Oh yes, and Nuno's first choice, Kounde is off to Chelsea, it seems! <yikes.
Real lost Ramos and Varane so am sure they will be on the look out for a top centre half.
Romero was voted the best defender of last season in Italy so potentially there could be other suitors. Am not convinced we are getting him.

I love the way our first choices are the lowest probabilities. Dream choice should be the terms used not first choice.
Dream choice: Romero or Kounde
First Choice: Milenkovic or Andersen
Back up: Lacroix or Caleta Car
Fans needs to stop getting so upset over failed Dream choices
The opportunity is there to sign a premium centre back. It will tell us all we need to know about our ambitions if we lose out. If we're working on such a tight budget why are we bringing in deal for a 20 year old in a position that we've got got covered for 20m plus? That doesn't make any sense. A top centre back is a priority. No excuses.

They are not.
We are not asking for Messi or Mbappe,....we are asking for Kounde or Romero.
No reason either of them could not have been brought to WHL....no reason other then....Lockbox Levy.
We got our fourth choice manager.
We will end up again with fourth choice players, the Sanchez's and Aurier's of this world.

I'm not sure it tells us much if we lose out to richer teams in champions league. Agents aren't stupid. We get used as billboards.
If we lose out to Everton or Arsenal then I would really have issues but we also have to accept we are not as attractive as champions league teams with deep pockets even IF we agree personal terms..clubs will always sell to highest bidder.
Atalanta have opened talks and are strongly pursuing a deal for FC Augsburg centre back Felix Uduokhai as they look to replace #thfc target Cristian Romero. | @Plettigoal
