Exceptional circumstances call for exceptional measures.

There is not a single rational reason for someone who is able to not to get the vaccine. It's in their interests, their family and friends but most importantly society as a whole. The higher the vaccine rates the less susceptible we are to further restrictions in future.

Imo this is very different to obesity, smoking etc. They are far more complex deep rooted issues.

Asking people to take a vaccine which has been universally approved by the best in science to continue to be allowed into certain venues is just common sense to me.

I'm getting quite sick of pandering to the idiots who refuse to be vaccinated. Time for a tougher stance. They are too uneducated to realise people like them increase the chances of future restrictions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Clearly your mind is made up. People like you will never consider other people's point of view. That's fine.

But I am not having the vaccine until I feel more confident with it. I have seen someone I know become seriously ill with Bells Palsy as a result. I also don't give a shet what you say, but long terms impacts cannot be confirmed. That's partly why children have not been made to have it. There is no reason all children shouldn't be offered it if it's as safe as you believe.

Il wait abit. Feel more confident with the vaccine when I'm ready, not when you say or when society says. If all those that need it have it, then I say fair game and let's reopen.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You sound like an absolute dumbass. What long term impacts would there even be? The MRNA vaccine leaves the body a few hours after it’s done it’s job.

As for the children not having it - its because it hasn’t been trialled in children yet (or that might be happening now and the results will be in soon).

You are part of a massive experiment by not having the vaccine now so well done, you’re actually making a worse medical decision than if you did have the vaccine 👏
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You are just a poster online following the guidance of those who want you to have the vaccine. They won't highlight issues.

Without being abusive, tell me why children are currently exempt then....

----------------------------------------------------------------------

The answers are above ^^
----------------------------------------------------------------------

That answer doesn't cut it for me. Children haven't been trialled yet

Why? What's the issue? They are carriers yet still we don't know if they can have the vaccine.

You crack on with it and good luck to you. You live your life, il live mine.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

What a priiickish viewpoint. If only it was "you do you and I'll do me". Unfortunately it isn't and this attitude will keep us in the midst of this for longer than needed.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Actually, to be fair you can easily pick this one comment I made and choose to just reply to this. I'd actually say that I replied like this due to the comments I was getting from this poster.

If you read my other replies, I was more balanced and even said that I would have the vaccine if I was convinced it would mean I stopped the spread. But I am yet to be convinced of this, based on my own extensive research.

You are the type of poster who picks the comments he wants to reply to.

I find it interesting that you ignored my recent comments such as:

"I do genuinely get the arguement around protecting those that can't have it. And to be fair this is a strong arguement for me to have it. I would definitely have it today if it meant I would be able to stop others being ill. I am just yet to be convinced by researching neutral data".

Instead you choose the one comment I made where I sort of "but" back.

Accept I am my own person who wants to make an informed choice based on my own concerns.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I stand by my comment.

Priiickish.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Considering your opinion is based on 5% of what was said, id say that comment is meaningless to me.

1 word answers perceived as strong words hide behind the fact you can't add anyhting meaningful or give a reasoned arguement. You took 1 comment and forgot 30 others.

I don't think most people realize that the vaccine has been rolled out under emergency legislation and has not be tested as thoroughly as traditional vaccines. The fact is that we still don't know the long term effects.

Another thing about it is that the vaccine is not a protection against the virus. More a protein that is consistent with the virus which is an ingenious way to provide protection and ensure protection against variants, however it does not stop you from spreading the virus either. Simply it gives your immune system a head start on defending itself from the virus which is fantastic, but there are a lot of people out there that think that they will be able to beat it without the help of a vaccine.

I don't blame people for not wanting to get vaccinated with the above information available to us and the fact that we are putting in place these "quasi mandates" stinks and I understand the concerns of people that want to defend their civil liberties. Things like this start small and then grow. It is like a frog in boiling water; if you boil it slowly enough it won't realize what has happened until it is too late.

I would support these vaccine passports so long as we have a clear, unextendible expiration date for the vaccine passport mandate. We should not be making this a permanent requirement.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Whilst true, people also don't realise this isn't a vaccine that has been created from scratch. The research behind this has been going on for years and just because this hasn't gone through the 3 year usual sign off process, it doesn't mean it is untested.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a fair point.

But it has not stood the test of time and people don't know the long term effects. What's to say that if you take the vaccine that your immune system doesn't become dependent upon it and will struggle to fight off future variants... I am not saying that it is likely, but it is not known. So if somebody fancies their chances to fight it off without the vaccine I can understand why they would make that choice.

It is a hard one. Public health vs somebody's right to not put medicine into their body. I am not keen on crossing that line.

posted on 29/7/21

Irrespective of anyone's views of the vaccine itself, surely people can see the issue around covid passports? This is a whole new debate, whether you are vaccinated or not.

I'd also add, people's medical records or status should be private. It appears alot of people forget this.

It means you weren't willing to comment on any of the comments I made where you couldn't.

If you refuse to have the vaccine then not being able to attend events like footy matches is one of the prices you pay for being a selfish thick cuunntt - along with being more likely to become seriously ill with covid of course (anti vaxxers that gets ill with covid should be refused free NHS treatment, theirs deaths would only help purify the gene pool anyway).

Exactly.

Are none of you even a little bit open to the views of those a little apprehensive about the vaccine? Or is it just a full on attack for anyone not yet sure.

I'm not anti vax. However, I am uncertain about it and extremely wary. I have done alot of research and I believe the vaccine make no significant difference to spreading. I'd rather wait until I'm more informed without bias from mainstream media.

Interesting to see if anyone who is vaccinated feels the idea of a passport is improper. I guess, because you have all had it you don't care. But I feel this is extremely unethical.

Yea, I respect Ace but I feel an allvout attack without respecting a view different to your own is poor. But this is what this has done to everyone so I accept that.

I don't see how anyone can view it as selfish if they are wary. I may have the vaccine when I feel more informed. But that's not selfish.

No vaccine, no entry.

Bring on the vaccine passports now, I don’t want to be forced to share any enclosed space with any Covid denying anti vaxx loons.

I just don’t understand how people can be more scared of the (perfectly safe) vaccine than they are of gasping for air on a ventilator slowly drowning in their own fluids, or God forbid, long Covid.

Get your jabs.

Stop pushing false information and get off the anti vaxx websites.

The vaccine absolutely lessens the risk of transmission, hospitalisations and death.

From what I can see is that the link between covid and hospitalization and death has reduced.

But as for the vaccinations stopping the spread, the jury is still out on that so it is not definitive yet. Even in the USA they are keeping their mask mandates for vaccinated people for this very reason.

I find this debate really interesting because it raises some very interesting societal perceptions. Out of interest Automatic, are you pro-choice or pro-life?

Honestly I'm not anti vaccine. I also haven't been on any anti vax sites, not that I am aware of anyway.

I feel I could turn you comment round. Your media outlets are purely pro vaccine. I want a balanced view.

And I stand by what I said, i am yet to be convinced that the vaccine significantly stops the spread. Irrespective of what the the media say, the facts IMO do not prove it stops the spread. I get it reduces people being seriously ill with it and I'm not denying that.

You shouldn't be annoyed with people wary of having it.
