I just saw 🙁 I met him back in the Murderdolls days and he’s such a legend. A shame how the last few years of his life went for him. One of the best drummers of the past 20 years.

Each to their own. Not so much technically as the others. Same with Keith Moon. It's more about the individual style that compliments the rest of the band perfectly. Not a fan of technical perfection.

Neil Peart as an individual technical drummer yes. I like Dave Grohl but had a rivalry at school with a Nirvana band and we were a Metallica band. Makes no sense but it was what is was.

The drummer from Biffy Clyro is surprisingly good. Mostly odd time signatures and sings some of the songs.

In terms of actual ability to drum im struggling to think of anyone other than portnoy who I would put above him.

What a loss to music.
