Funny how you didn't really back Jose with his picks after giving him a new deal but Ole has spent an absolute fortune. A Yes Man who accepts what he's given?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Because Mourinho wanted really shiiiiiit signings.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
and Dalot and Fred for nearly 70m were.good signings?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Dalot and Fred were both Mourinho signings
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is going well
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The 'Cult of Mourinho' is one of the strangest phenomena in football. Long after he has left, his followers seem to make it the rest of their life's mission to convince everyone he wasn't that bad.
a spurs fan talking about winning things
a Liverpool fan whose current manager spent 450m to win the league calling Ole a chequebook manager
not sure who's more special here.
They've got a good enough team to win a trophy this season that's for sure, but it's such a tough thing to do. I don't think many fans would argue and say United are probably the 4th best team on paper, behind Chelsea, Liverpool and City. Maybe 3rd in some eyes but even still, whilst they are a good side, that's still 2/3 other sides that are better than United that will all be in the same boat.
Despite there being 3 domestic competitions to go for, it's still extremely difficult to win a trophy.

Hmm, not sure about that, I’m one of his biggest fans but I’ve always maintained he had to go when he did. However his first two seasons were the most successful we’ve had since SAF left and still remain so. He obviously did something right but unfortunately for him a combination of his own negativity and self destruction and Ed being useless ended things when they did.
I think that’s a fair comment. The cult of LVG is worse as to this day his biggest cult members maintained he should have stayed. I at least have the good graces to accept that Jose should have been sacked.

The word 'cult' is a very good approximation for Jose. I'm conflicted about Van Gaal, I really liked his personality but absolutely hated watching us when he was manager.

In Oles defence i think Utd have been signing fairly well under him, and a lot better than what Mourinho would have spent it on. Even the ones who havent quite worked out yet i AWB James or w.e i can see the idea behind it.
They had the 2nd most expensive squad in the league and theyre chucking crazy money at it still under OGS they have to start winning stuff. But easier said than done when the competition is City/Chelsea who themselves spend insane amounts too without the need to sell to fund it.
