It will be interesting to look back on some of the disparaging comments from our fans when we were linked to Grealish a few years ago
All Levy had to do was add a few more mill.

£100 mill eh..

Sandy.

Rem when Trevor Francis became first million pound player?

Forest, about forty years and a belly ago.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Yup but he was quality.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We concur at last.😊

Good at Rangers too.

And to think Spurs wouldn’t pay what for grealish 18 months ago, was it £20m?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Tbf if we had we’d just have completely mis managed him and he’d be 5h1te
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This exactly....although Dele we bought for 5m and could have sold for 70m at the peak of his hype.

You should be happy.

The more Grealish costs, the less likely City are going to buy Kane.

LOL, not up to City re Kane. Whatever made you think it was?

I'm not sure that Grealish will thrive at a club trying to compete for trophies - not unless they let him play in a free role anyway.

Could be a funny ploy to force Levy's hand on Kane for the £130m they reportedly bid. Only one would be signed and Spurs need the cash apparently to pay for the stadium.

Haha, we really don’t. The stadium loan is over a long time horizon, I think it works out at about £40m a year to service, we get that just from NFL, Boxing, Rugby and concerts at the stadium.

City will either pay £150m+ or Kane will be a Spurs player next season

No, the stadium is financed and budgeted. Need cash for adding any more to a transfer budget, but not the stadium.

This is it, people see the debt figures at Spurs and think we are in trouble. However, it’s good debt as it is essentially a mortgage, there is something tangible there. It’s not like wages that are a constant drain, there is a tangible asset that can be financed and budgeted for over the long term.

The stadium is a cash generator rather than a cash drain.

That has generated how much in the last couple of years?

Don't fool yourself like Arsenal fans did, funds will be scarce for players while it is paid off.

The price ManCity are offering for Grealish is more a reflection of the club's need for a player of that type than it is a valuation of the player himself.
Grealish obviously ain't worth 100Mil on the open market any more than Kane is worth 140 Mil.
I tend to agree with Levy on this point about the market prices for players.

I don’t care about the last couple of years, let’s look at what’s coming up - the Joshua fight, 2x NFL matches, Saracens and Guns N Roses - as GB used to say “Boom” that’s this years payment plus change, the NFL matches bring in £10m by themselves. So please tell me again about the financial issue?

The things is our wages to revenue is the best in the league, it’s under 40% - that’s the killer cost for clubs because it’s constant. The ground will be paid off one day and we will have an asset, it’s essentially buying a house with a mortgage. Whereas player wages are just money slipping out of the club.

LOL no clubs have hosted much over the last two years, the stadium was built as a cash cow for the next 100 years. The money will soon start flooding in.

That revenue has been severely lacking in the last couple of years.

Spurs haven’t hosted any of those events you claimed that would generate £40m a year for a couple of years

Did Spurs get to defer those stadium payments?

There’s a cash hole.

Spurs need the cash.

I always buy a matchday programme, and have them dating back to the 1950s and before.
