This was posted on the Villa board for a reason. Again i'm not bothered if it turns out that Grealish does leave, but it's a credible enough source because my mate indeed does know the Grealish family member...

I heard Ole tried to hyjack but he feels he has more chance of silverware where he is.

I saw that rumour on Twitter last night. Be interesting to see how it does turn out. Brilliant for Villa if he stays as they are building a pretty decent squad

Agreed. I rate Grealish highly but City already have plenty of talent in that position. Kane would take them to another level (or help them maintain their already high level).

Yeah the way I see it, if the likes of:

Bernardo
Foden
Sterling

Were at Villa they'd stand out more than what Grealish does, so i'd be delighted if City bought him. A few more years of stunting Foden's development would be perfect.

Might be true about Villa showing they are ambitious but I can't say I'm sure he will turn down City really in the long run. Staying at Villa is good for him being a local lad and it shows that Villa would be building a good squad around him but I can't see him staying personally.

Maybe the family member is saying he will be staying to either stop the rumours from circulating or because they want Grealish to stay.

Given that city are already very good playing the system they do, Grealish actually makes perfect sense for them.

Pep loves to rotate, so theoretically players will stay fresh for longer into the season, and any injuries just mean a like for like swap with no drop in quality. He likes consistency of approach as well; when he bought Ibrahimovic for Barcelona it didn't work out as neither could get their head around how to play him in their system.

I think it's very shrewd business if they get him.

No, Yes, Remains to be seen.

I agree it's a shrewd signing if they complete it.

It's not exactly unheard of that players stay with their boyhood clubs over the lure of success elsewhere but it's not exactly common. It would almost be refreshing to see Grealish stay and try and win with Villa. Personally I think he'll be a City player next year though.

If they get him it'll be like when we got Berbatov, or Liverpool got Robbie Keane. Funnily enough they both happened in the same window I think and neither of them worked properly because they weren't needed. Berba only worked when Tevez and Ronaldo left...

Ambitious and with a clear direction for the club. That is being fulfilled with the players being bought in. We're assembling a fantastic squad to compete this season for Europe.
