We do have both a buy back clause and a sell on clause.
Is he English by the way ? just asking.

Exactly....its just a hybrid loan/sale deal. Good move by Chelsea to structure it that way.
Isn’t this kid meant to be pretty special?

Yeah, but...

People can spin it anyway Bloo, don't change the fact it's another terrible mistake by Chelsea!
I said in another article you are falling victim of your own success the same way Barcelona did, you simply have too much coming through. Even Lampard couldn't prevent Lamptey leaving you for the same reason this guy did.
Anyway the buy back clause turns this into a loan for all intents and purposes, if he lives up to his billing you'll get him back quicker than you can say boo.
No doubt we'll end up activating the buyback clause

We hope!!
It's been stated since day 1 pretty much that the academy will be used to generate revenue as well as produce future stars. It may be painful to watch but we have to get used to it.
I don't see what choice Chelsea had. Like Lamptey into the last year of deal and refused a new one. Both could leave for free with no clause to buy back. This way we have a grip on the players career. Best outcome in this situation

Agreed. We still have control if we want him back. Much better than just selling him like we did with Tomori.
