Originally, it set out to focus on racism and discrimination, great. But it's quickly becoming about more than that.

As usual, it's become a platform for the left and right to use as a political tool. I guess that's my real issue.

But how is it as dangerous as the far right?

Because freedom of speech is an important part of society (no I’m not saying people can be racist at will) as are things like science, comedy amongst other things that are being restricted by the left.

how is 'the left', 'restricting comedy and science'?

Freedom of speech and freedom from consequences are different things though.

Is anti racism as dangerous as racism?

All well and good, but when a doctor can’t refer to a breast as a breast something is up.

telling people what they can say and what they can’t say is IMO a bad precedent to set.

As for comedy, you only have to look at the last great comedy movie to be made, probably a decade ago. Hollywood is either terrified of the left or stuck up their own backside to make anything controversial. Many great comedy shows and movies made within the last 20 years wouldn’t get made today.

Again, we’re early into the left movement, of course we need to irradicate

Certain parts of hate culture, but there is also a balance which much be considered.

North Korea is an example of a socialist society and what happens when you aren’t allowed to think, let alone speak for yourself.

Anecdotal evidence isn’t evidence though. When did that ever happen? And even if it did, the English language is an ever evolving thing. Changing a word from breast to chest is hardly the same as a KKK meeting.

Bit of an extreme example. There’s zero evidence at all that the current trend of ‘woke’ is leading to North Korea. You strike me as someone who uses the words socialist and Marxist and woke etc and doesn’t really know the meanings behind them.

This ‘chest feeding’ notion sounds like a load of bollox

Does anyone have a link to back it up?

Busby posted a link of midwives at an NHS trust in Brighton being told they can say chestfeeding if they want. Hardly North Korea.

Surgeon: Hello Mrs. Jones, you are diagnosed with chest cancer. We need to amputate both chests. After the procedure we will reconstruct both your chests.

Ms. Jones: What the fack are you on about?!

I hadn’t heard of it until yesterday myself. I take my friends word for it.

As we’re into calling people liars, I googled it and there is lots of reports of NHS hospitals and surgeries now using the term “chest feeding”.

Google, Chest feeding NHS.

That’s obviously one small example, we are all aware of the cultural shift for the snowflakes in society. If you can’t see that you’re blind.

I didn’t, somebody else did. There are plenty of other examples, apparently. I went on a conversation with a GP who has been told that’s now the term she must use with new parents.

Good riddance the USWNT lost. I can't bear to see them on every media outlet demanding Messi money because they won the facking Olympics.

Woke us dangerous, just as dangerous are the far right.

We will all wake up to it soon. My GP friend can no longer say “breast feeding” to new mothers, but “chest feeding”.

It’s getting silly.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

My sister in law heads up a team that promotes breast feeding and they very much still call it breastfeeding. In fact it's national breastfeeding week this week.

I'm afraid your GP friend is talking out her backside.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry, I was wrong.

It's world breastfeeding week, not national.

If you're lucky enough to be a new mother in Tayside and have a newborn, you can have a 'breast buddy' that gives you lots of support around breastfeeding. It's all very good and uses the word 'breast' a lot.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So has Busby made a breast of himself or a chest?

I'm still undecided on what exactly people mean by snowflakes. Is that this decade's version of PC gone mad? Or is people that are easily offended by things?

I would say if you look at headlines of the past, often 1 case is used as the basis for sensationalist headlines, this is even more prevalent in the days of instant 24 hour news cycles where the need for clicks far outweighs the need for accurate reporting. It's the reason places like the Daily Mail flip flop between red meat causing and preventing cancer based off of 1 piece of research. The breast/chest thing reminds me of when there were a bunch of headlines complaining that people can't say Merry Christmas anymore... Which is obviously bollocx

I do feel the far left is dangerous, yes.

Do I stand against racism? Yes. Do I need to be a far left to do so? No.

Maybe the term "WOKE" has become weaponized, so I'd prefer to use the term far left.

There is a middle ground and the far left are now doing more bad than good with some of their agendas. Politics are far too black and white these days, it's a very dangerous game and all parties are become more and more left/ right leaning.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Some people can't resist jumping on a left or right bandwagon. I think most people are in-between the two extremes, but it's the extremists that make all the noise and get all the attention. And now the left and right just keep triggering each other.

Some idiots promoted that as if people of other religions would be offended, which is nonsense. All it led to was far right morons blaming Muslims, who had nothing to do with it.

This is what happens when you go to extremes in trying non to cause offence—you end up causing even more problems.

It is if you promote it to not offend, when no one has ever said 'merry Christmas' is offensive to them. It was also discouraging putting decorations in public I think.
