Vavarising I am just guessing and could be totally wrong.
But I think PSG are not acting within FFP and they know that full well. I think they will be quite prepared to take a fine and transfer embargo for a couple of windows.
They have obtained players that will no doubt improve them so much and they must have a big chance in Europe.
And when the opportunity to get Messi came up they could not let some other club have him, so went for it and as I said are quite prepared to take the hits on the chin.
That's my theory wrongly or rightly
The more money you have, the more people you can bribe/influence
They are clearly in breach, but what are UEFA actually going to do about it? The super league clubs got a slap on the wrist. PSG will have been in UEFAs good books as they didn’t join the Super league - so will have some favour there. Which means they have probably weighed everything up and realised at most they will get a fine - which is like punishing a truant school child with suspension
They should get rid of FFP, it’s been a waste of time and all it is doing is holding back further clubs with mega rich owners like Villa, Leicester and Everton from competing more. Leicester and Everton’s wage to revenue is approx 85% - which considering how much money they get from being prem sides is not a million miles off Barcelona
They're not in breach yet and I suspect they will sell a fair few players to balance it.
I really don’t pretend to understand all the FFP rules, but I would be surprised if PSG don’t sell enough Messi shirts this year to more than cover the €50M wages. Plus as Robbing Hood suggests, they are also likely to sell a bunch of their players too.
Even though Messi costs huge amounts in wages, he’s got to be a money-making machine. Like I say, I have no idea if PSG will come close to actually complying with the new rules, but I bet their revenues will skyrocket this year.
what helps PSG out to an extent is
Ramos/Messi/Donna/Gini Wij all signed on free transfers, so whilst the wages are high it's not as bad (still bad) isnt there wage bill to income something like 99%
It was Chelsea that started all of this, followed by Man City. You all just sat back and let it happened because it benefited your club/league.You shall reap what you sow when it all comes crashing down.
money has always been part of football and traditionally those with more did better, but I blame Blackburn

Nike sell the Messi shirts, not PSG.
Tbf echoing what BlueJ2 said, if you could hand pick three players to rake the cash in you'd go with those three (and Ronaldo wouldn't hurt either ).
The poster boy of Brazil, the poster boy of France & European football in general, and the poster boy of world football.
They’ll do similar to what Juve did when they signed Ronaldo and renegotiate a few of their existing sponsorships. That and offset some of it with player sales.
Messi is slightly different in that even the astronomical wages he commands can be offset more easily than others.
Why the surprise? None of the big clubs are working within the rules
They are, it’s more people either don’t understand the rules or don’t realise ffp doesn’t stop clubs from racking up massive debt if they want to.
I think in all likelihood they break the rules, win the CL, and take the punishment after. Likely after the world cup.
Imagine being a side like Dijon or Strasborg. League is broken by PSG

Or Lille. What is the point in even trying eh
LOL A Chelsea fan moaning about FFP, when their owner has been laundering his dirty money through the club for about 15 years. You couldn't make it up.
The covid relaxations coupled with neymar signing his new contract both cover the amount they’re spending on Messi for the next couple of seasons anyway without the increase in revenue he’ll bring.
What is it, £100m cost over two years? Not really crazy money in the grand scheme of things
Due to Covid the FFP rules have been significantly changed.

Abramovich bought Ferreira carvaljo glen johnson and joe cole. psg bought Neymar mbappe and pay almost 2mill a month for Messi, i cant see much of a comparison there but from a bitter nonstarter like you wouldnt expect anyother kind of response.
