Last 5 years these clubs have spent more than chelsea and Liverpool:
Everton
Arsenal
Brighton
Bournemouth
West ham
Wolves
Aston Villa
I am also sure Steve that most people would disagree with your time frame. Sandy and others talk back to the 90s as if they were infinitely more competitive than now.
I’m not naive to the fact of what abramovich done given us that extra push to win league titles. But within the last 10 years of so chelsea have been self sufficient.
I am very confused on Man City’s spending however, who never seem to really sell players and have huge outlays every single year.
So you are triggered by what 20 pindits are predicting? Come on maaan.
Also when we broke the british record transfer fee to sign Paul Gascoigne for £2.2m, how did you feel about money in the game back then?
Be honest..
Point is, money has always been in the game and Spurs have contributed to the way money has spiralled out of control more than most clubs. Deal with it.
What we have these days are 2 financially doped clubs in Chelsea and Man City buying their way into the top 4 every season, and 2 other media darling clubs in Varpool and Penited, being dragged into the top 4 every season by `benefit of doubt` officiating and media influence.
This is what Spurs are up against, we are also seen as potential party poopers and the most likely to gate crash the media`s cozy little cartel, hence the media`s desperation for us to lose our best player and why they persistently talk us down.
FFP is not worth the paper it is printed on, and is only good for preventing clubs going bust, not for preventing money laundering or an unfair and severely distorted PL.

How many City players spend most of their careers at City though?
Aguero, Silva, Kompany, Zabaleta, Yaya, Fernandinho have spent 7 or more years at the club.
City also make a healthy profit on selling fringe players - £50m+ so far this Summer
TL DR - I just assumed it was a load of waffle about how unfair everything is and how everything is against Spurs

The league is actually more competitive now with the money. There are now several teams who can win and another couple who could make CL on top of that.
Lumping the PSG example in with the PL is waffle.

Spot on
Spurs were the first club to become a PLC, others followed suit but are better at it.
Levy runs Spurs like a corner shop, efficient but hardly exciting
I love how people try to defend obscene spending on transfers and at the same time ignore their hefty wage bills. When you add the two together it is clear who is spending way beyond their means, thanks to dodgy sponsorship deals etc.
Chelsea spend around 65% of turnover on wages, City, Woolwich and Pool around 60%, United 55%.
Spurs on the other hand have the lowest wage to turnover percentage in the PL of around 38%, while Everton and Leicester have the highest at a staggering 85%.
I don’t spend money on football anymore. It’s obscene what some clubs throw about whilst the average person is suffering the economic effects of covid and brexit. Replica shirts now start at around £70, tickets the same, even sky man United sports is £25 a month just for sd.
It’s just not worth it. My club spurs are as guilty as any, trying to get every penny they can put of every fan. Only difference is there’s little reward for the fans due to Man City and Chelsea always being able to gazump them in the transfer window.
Football is not a working mans sport anymore, it’s a moral cesspit of money men where several teams have such an advantage over the rest that there is little chance of the playing field EVER being levelled.
I despair at the media’s desperation for grealish and Kane to join city. I want the best players spread around the league not all playing for hollow medals with outrageous wages. The premier league is NOT the best league in the world at all and the way it’s going it will be akin to France Scotland and Spain where there are only one or two clubs worth watching.
Money men destroy everything.
Wagebills don’t concern ordinary fans, accountants maybe

Given for ffp purposes, wages and amortisation of the transfer fees are all that matters, I don’t think anyone is ignoring them. If you’re making the point that people seemingly leap to conclusions without even looking at financial statements, let alone understand them, then I agree...

Your wage bill is more than double Spurs.
It is time you faced up to reality pal, your medium sized club is nothing but a financially doped, footballing equivalent, of a small soft cokkk on vyagra.
Anything you have won, is hollow, tainted and virtually meaningless to everybody else other than your sad fans, and a handful of others on the payroll.
