Leicester v Wolves [LIVE]

So great to be back going to live games, great atmosphere and an enjoyable game. Nothing between the teams overall just a well taken goal from Vardy who got in ahead of Coady, not for the only time in the game.

Plenty of positives on the Wolves side. Marcal had his best game for us, Neves doing well in midfield and Traore a threat every time he got the ball. But man of the match was Kilman who defended superbly and regularly stepped into midfield to set up attacks. We have our own overlapping centre back. And he twice came close to scoring late on.

As I heard Leicester supporters saying on the way back to the car, they got away with it today in a game they could easily have lost. Doubt I’ll find such positivity about Wolves on the match thread 😄

Really look forward now to getting back to a full Molineux. Although I am tempted to stay at home and ridicule other posters or like Boston not be able to think of anything positive to say in the last 40 years. How jealous I am of their personalities ✌🏽

I think overall nobody is being particularly critical today, we all knew going in we were light on numbers to really make a difference as yet. A couple of new additions and the return of Neto and Boly and mid table should be fairly comfortable.

Can't say Marcal impressed today, thought it was possibly his poorest game for us and we will be better with Ait-Nouri though I get why Bruno was protecting the back line today.

Taped the game and just finished watching it.

Pretty much the same as last season, second best in the first half, but much better in the second. I personally think we were very unlucky and missed several opportunities to score. Traore the culprit again, I'm afraid.

I thought the defence, especially Kilman, was solid for the most part and Vardy took his goal well. Don't understand the flak Moutinho gets tbh. OK, he may not last 90 mins, but his positioning and that superb through ball to let Traore in justifies him starting at the moment.

Trincao seems a good prospect and showed some good skills as the game progressed. Jimenez not quite up to speed yet and I thought Hoever did well and will learn at lot.

Only real disappointment was Dendonker, who I'm not sure knows where he's supposed to play.

So overall, unlucky not to get at least a point and but for terrible misses from Traore and a couple of other chances, we could even have come away with the points.

Neto is sorely missed and a front 3 of him, Jimenez and Trincao will brighten up our season for sure.

Traore needs to either go or be an impact sub. More positives than negatives from match 1.

The disappointments to me were Coady and Saiss. Whenever a forward pushes on to Coady as Vardy does, he struggles, which to me is why he would never make it in a back four.

Marcal was very good and can be a real asset if he stays fit, while Kilman was a revelation. Still think Moutinho is one we need to move on from and Trincao reminds me of Neto in his early days. Too many fancy flicks that didn’t come off, but I could see him progressing as quickly as Neto did.

Traore was by far our best attacker and the Leicester defence was on the back foot whenever he got the ball. He missed a couple of chances, Trincao and Jimenez didn’t. You take your choice I guess, criticise players for missing chances or criticise attackers that on the day never really threatened to score.

Will never understand why Nuno went off Kilman last year. He has seldom had a poor game.

Wouldn't be fussed if we moved away from Coady to be honest, if the stories that Spurs are keen are true then it may be the best time to move him on get him a big pay day that he deserves and thank him before he ends up just being phased out here.

Spangles bringing other people’s personalities into the discussion again. How sad

Pity we can’t just stick to debating all things Wolves?

Just watched the highlights for the first time. Kilman is making a habit of missing these free headers isn’t he? He missed a sitter last Saturday.

As others have said, Traore needs to be an impact sub at best. He’s got all the composure in front of goal of an eighteen year olds erect peni5.

Just read this online to help us understand what a ridiculer is

‘Any person of great vision has his or her ridiculers, who inevitably fail to recognise genius or originality’

Suddenly I feel inclined to take ridiculer’s comments very seriously, as we all should 🦉

Biggest positive is yet another clean sheet for what many believe to be one of the best front lines in the division. 👍

Yes I have been critical for the last 12 months and I am sure most supporters have agreed with me.
Your report from yesterday was obviously seen through your rose coloured glasses as from what I have seen and heard we were second best for most of the game. There were some good performances from some and equally some poor ones from others, so I will continue to criticise when I feel it is necessary and praise equally so when it is right to do so.

I’ll keep a scoreline of your posts Boston to make sure you are a man if your word and criticise and praise equally. You are starting off with -1 because there is no way we were second best for most of the game yesterday, we matched them throughout and had twice as many shots on goal as they did

Just a couple of weeks to go in the transfer market and hopefully we will hold on to what we have and bring in a couple of new faces.

I know a lot of people would say centre back is the priority but if we are to move to four at the back then two from Mosquera, Boly and Kilman with Saiss as back up would do for me in the centre of defence.

Priority in my opinion is an attacking, goalscoring midfield player. With the likes of Traore, Neto and Trincao we have the ideal foundation for a 4231 set up if we could just find our Fernandes, Son or Maddison type player to play in the centre of the three

posted on 15/8/21

The problem with finding an attacking midfielder seems to be that they command the same sort of transfer fees as strikers. Grealish, Fernandes, Son, Madison, Pogba, etc are all outside of our price range even if they were available. If we are going to dip into the Championship pool to get someone we can afford, it's debatable whether we already have players of that standard in the shape of Gibbs-White and Trincao.

We should sign Brooks from Bournemouth

I tend to agree with Lage and his post match comments. We didn't deserve to lose and had Traore taken the two very good chances he had, we could have come away with at least a point.

Yes he has pace and can be threatening, but his finishing is abysmal. I would prefer to see MGW start the next game and have Traore on the bench and if an offer comes for him then I would grab the money. Not sure if anyone else notices how much he looks towards the bench for some kind of inspiration.

I agree with your point gem, these players are gold dust and I suspect our most likely route to find the right player is to look abroad.

Ironically one of the players with the ideal make up is Pedro Goncalves who had scored 33 goals from 79 appearances from midfield since we let him go to Portugal on a free

I see Ivan Toney was man of the match for Brentford.
When I suggested we look at the lower leagues for new players his name was mentioned. Trawling through the transfer ins and out I noticed lots of players being taken up from the lower leagues.

They are there if they are looked for.

DJ you gave me a minus 1 for my comments ?
Apparently we had only 3 shots on target so you must think that is an improvement.

I think I'll try harder next week.

posted on 15/8/21

We had 17 shots Leicester had 9. Strange in a game where you reckoned we were second best for most of the game. The headline in the Leicester press was ‘Leicester hang on for a narrow success’.

I know it’s a terrifying thought for you, but just once this season think of something positive to say about Wolves. No need to wear rose coloured specs, just take off the eye patches, I’m sure you’ll find something good thats worthy of a positive comment in every game if you can bring yourself to say so

No Kane in the Spurs squad today. I still reckon his transfer to City is inevitable, just that Spurs weren’t going to sell him before they played City today. Nuno likely to have £100m to spend before he comes to Molineux next Sunday

Quite a turnaround at St James Park today. Newcastle 2-1 up at the break but they’ve been absolutely battered in the second half

Boston, you're banging your head against a brick wall with Mr DJ Molineux. You're spot on, we did have 3 shots on target and Leicester had 5. Keep posting mate, as we all have different opinions. He however has never accepted that point.

I was pleased with the overall performance, although our weak point this season will be the inability to score goals.

Supposedly it will take a week+ to complete paperwork for foreign signings so any action on that front should come to light this week. Anyone know why it is taking so long to do paperwork now, is it just an EU thing?

Just read this on the on line dictionary to get a better understanding of what a Spangle is.

Not sure what that means? Probably means I’m right though.

Where is Wolfgang? No doubt mourning Gerd Mullers death but still, be good to have him back.

Tam? Moves house and ditches us. Bute? Lost in the Philippine jungle?
