Bale did not want to renew his loan…………….so out of our control.
Vinicius wanted guaranteed playing time, which is difficult with Kane in place.

That’s not the point genius. Stop trying to hide the clear inept recruitment all the time. Bale should of been replaced, as should of Vinicius. None of them have been replaced. What are your excuses ? I’d love to hear this

Replaced by who exactly Don?
Paratici is looking at a number of targets, however as most clubs believe we are going to receive well in excess of £100m for Kane, they are increasing the valuations of their players exponentially.
For every player who would fit in at Spurs, another 10 would not. It is not always as simple as just going out and selecting someone and then signing him.
With no proper European competition this season, it has become more difficult to bring in the right players. Remember, if they are not going to be better than what we already have, what is the point?
These are not excuses but clear facts of how the market works. If we had CL football, then I could guarantee that would have had an easier time recruiting players.
Plus, the clubs outside of England think the PL is cash rich and therefore can afford ludicrous money if they want to buy their players.

I am saying Harry Kane going bares no resemblance on replacing Vinicius and Bale. A huge cop out from you as per usual with your pro Levy and ENIC stance. I would agree and have said already that the squad is in poorer shape now that when we ended last season.
We’ve lost Toby, our only real leader at the back. Yes he was past his best, but I’d much rather have kept him and sold Dier. Toby would’ve been better to help phase Romero in. Romero himself is still fairly young and has no PL experience, so for me we are weaker at CB for the time being at least.
We’ve also lost Bale who, behind Son and Kane was our most productive attacker last season, and not replaced him. There remains a big risk that we will lose Kane’s goal contributions (approx 40). Throw Bales into the mix and we are way down and none of the rest of this team - Sonny aside - have goals in them.
So for me we’ve lost Toby and Bale, plus Vinicius, and they haven’t been efficiently replaced so IMO the squad is weaker. If we lose Kane at this stage we are facked, there is no way we can replace what he brings even if we could get our targets (Martinez, Vlahovic) which is looking increasingly unlikely now.
Sunday was a great spirited win against an under strength City and of course we were all buzzing, but looking at it objectively you have to say that unless some pretty impressive last minute business is done we are gonna have a challenging season and, IMO the club have handled the football side of things very poorly since Jose was sacked. We shouldn’t be in this position with the season already underway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sunday could very well be a one off. Every player was on point and played out of their skin helped by a packed house at the TH stadium. It would be very Spursy to fail against Wolves on Sunday in similar circumstances for them(packed house and playing against their former manager, everyone of their players will be up for it).
I'm glad Nuno rested all of them yday and kept them fresh for Sunday. We are going to have to play beyond our limits again with players like Tanganga setting the tone and playing out of his skin against Adama Traore.
In some ways Sunday will be a bigger test because Wolves have had a similar pre season to us without too many players on international duty where as Man City were missing a few of their top boys especially in defence.
Back to the article. We are massively understrength. An injury to Son or Moura or any of our midfield three against City and we will have to rely on the dross that played last night. It's not good enough.
How anyone can actually sit there and use Harry Kane as an excuse for not having a single back up striker on the bench is honestly clueless.

Danny Ings would have been decent. We didn't want to pay his wages. Villa did and got the deal done.
Yep... I have the same concerns,Don...
Though, didn’t the Beast guy say that we have 4 players coming in, in the last week of the window?!!
Trouble is, no one seems interested in the likes of Doherty, Sanchez, Dier, Davies, Winks, Sissoko... I’d even sell Rodon & Dele Ali...
The NDombele situation is bloody frustrating also... would love Graham Roberts to come down & take some training sessions...sort NDombelle out, once & for all!!
I will ask you this question again greaves and if Harry Kane is in your answer, I will just ignore you from now on. Spurs got rid of 2 forward players including a player that scored 16 league goals and 0 back up striker. They haven’t replaced either. What are your excuses ?

That’s not my job Greaves. That’s the job of the Spurs recruitment team and Daniel Levy to action these deals and not leave us short. Getting rid of 2 forwards and having 0 back up striker, and not replacing is pi** poor and I don’t care how you try too justify it. Asking me too name players is a cop out. This should of been done by the club instead of leaving us short AGAIN!!

Currently our squad is worse off than it was last year.
-----------
1. no its not
2. we have a manager that actually tries to coach players and has more than one way of playing, so the squad will look better than it did last season as it wasnt suited at all to mourinho ball and he was too stubborn to change.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes we are chronic. We don’t have a striker ffs. Our one has gone awol. We lost Vinicius and Bale. How on earth are we better ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
skipp is a huge upgrade on anything we have in CM aside from PEH.
Gil is an unknown quantity so not sure how you can determine whether or not he is better than Lamela... i bet you that hes available to actually play a lot more than Lamela so thats already a good start.
Toby is a loss, but his year on year decline indicates that this year would probably have been a season too far for him. Romero surely an upgrade on anything we had last season once settled.
Gollini is a huge upgrade on Joe Hart.
Bale is a loss, granted, but there is still plenty of business to be done I think.
Kane isnt AWOL... last time I checked he is training with the first team and in contention to play on Sunday.
Don you remind me of an emotional woman at times. beat city (and comfortably in my opinion) and its all happy days... the U23s then lose in some jokey competition and its crisis.

Not really mate. I put up an article right after that City game saying what a great result it was, but we still need lots of recruitment. My opinion hasn’t changed for years. I still don’t think we are good enough.
also, even if the squad ends up worse at the close of the window... we have a progressive, tactically flexible manager... unlike last season... which in theory should make a team more than the sum of its parts, as oppose to less than the sum of its parts like we were last year.
Lesta have had a weaker squad than us for a while, but have an Fa cup and a league title.... good tactics, management, a clear style, and heart and belief can take you a long way...
look at ndombele.. on paper a top signing... in reality hes pretty much just a waste of time

Pleased to hear you will be taking your boy there too, I was 8 when my father took me to the Lane back in 1958.
The loss of Bale is being understated here. He's a borderline world class footballer. Even under the dinosaur last season where he was underused he ended up with 11 pl goals and had the best goals to minutes ratio in the league.
If we lose Kane we are pretty facked (unless some quality attackers come in, which I doubt).
The likes of Bergwijn and Lucas are good players, especially against the better teams where their work rate is crucial, but they are not clinical and are unlikely to add many goals.
Think we'll be relying on Dele to step up this season and add some goals.

Bale did not want to renew his loan…………….so out of our control.
Vinicius wanted guaranteed playing time, which is difficult with Kane in place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That’s not the point genius. Stop trying to hide the clear inept recruitment all the time. Bale should of been replaced, as should of Vinicius. None of them have been replaced. What are your excuses ? I’d love to hear this
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Replaced by who exactly Don?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Genius, forget Harry Kane for a second and stop using him as a cop out mate. Harry Kane is a separate entity altogether. He goes, we replace him with a like for like quality replacement. This has fu** all too do with Kane: I repeat again, we have rid of 2 forwards and one of them scored a lot of goals for us last season and we haven’t replaced either of them. Instead of trying too justify your stance all the time, Just admit this is incredibly poor on our part. 2 forwards gone, no replacement. Utter joke.

Don you remind me of an emotional woman at times. beat city (and comfortably in my opinion) and its all happy days... the U23s then lose in some jokey competition and its crisis.
find the middle ground lad.

Lesta have had a weaker squad than us for a while, but have an Fa cup and a league title.... good tactics, management, a clear style, and heart and belief can take you a long way...
look at ndombele.. on paper a top signing... in reality hes pretty much just a waste of time

has the window closed? squad analysis articles are pointless until it has because we know for a fact that there will be incomings and outgoings between now and then...
there is an argument to get business done early.. but as long as we keep winning then this is neither here nor there.
I fully expect 3 points on Sunday, in what will be a tough game.
