I thought the loan with a commitment thing was ridiculous too but actually it could make sense (I think) - if we can get an extra few mill out of them at the end of the season in exchange for deferring payment now (if that's the deal) then the owners have deep enough pockets to facilitate that and we're better off long term.
It would seem that the owners pockets are so deep that they can't actually reach he money at the bottom of them.
The clock is ticking and I'm losing faith in Fosun as the days go by.
It is becoming hard to have much faith in them Gem that is for sure. Went into the window with high hopes that Bruno would be backed well, even if it meant we sold a star to do so, but with 7 days to go we have down very very little and it really has the feel of fizzling out to not a lot at all.
Ten days from now we shall have our answer I guess.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is it in a nutshell. When the windows closes we will know the direction the club are heading.
Is Herbert right all along and the Chinese People’s Republic are pulling out of overseas investment in vanity projects? Maybe the lack of financial backing was the real reason Nuno walked?
Despite the protestations of some of our more gold tinted glasses wearing supporters, we are going to be in deep doo doo 💩 if we play out the rest of this season with the squad we’ve got now.
We’ve got two midfielders at centre back that Antonio and Lukaku are going to have for breakfast. No creativity or goals coming from the midfield, and a front line firing blanks.
All this and an unproven Premier League manager that looks to be struggling already.
We’re going to be going into the international break wondering where it all went wrong.
I’d almost accept no more signings now as long as we held on to Traore and Neves. Just don’t think we’d be able to bring better players than them in even if we got inflated fees.
Having said that it would be a massive disappointment if Fosun didn’t invest in the team to give us a better first team and better squad than we had in May. Only a week before deadline day and there’s far more rumours about players leaving then coming in and come Sept 1st we will know a lot more about the direction the club is going not just this season but potentially for the foreseeable future
The only hope I can cling to is that if Fosun are looking to get out, then letting the stars go and allowing the club to fall down the league and possibly relegation, then they will lose money as our value will plummet.
They cannot be that silly as they will lose money and that's not their game.
Im really not bothered either way if Traore stays or goes, if we can get £40m for someone that blasts past international defenders for fun with great ball control, incredible pace and puts his shot out for a throw in, then fine. If we can spend that on two players that can provide five goals a 10 assists between them we've done ok.
Agree Oldie, but the if is will they spend that money on new players ?
Or buy a couple of 18/19 year olds , 'for the future'.
Talking about mid level 18/19 year old signings, where on earth is Bruno Jordao? He's not played loads of first team games anywhere but would surely be a better option than cundle, Perry etc.
As much as I like Fabio, both as a player and as a young person, blowing the Jota money on him was probably the most stupid decision the club has made since Fosun took over.
I can only assume they were convinced that he was the next Cristiano Ronaldo?

Can’t agree with that view. Without Traore I think Spurs and Leicester would have had pretty comfortable afternoons. He is a fantastic talent that has had more successful dribbles than any player in the league over the last two years. Also read today that he has laid on over 100 chances in that time, not his fault that the vast majority were missed. Can’t see that the route to us scoring more is to sell off the player that does most to open up opposition defences. He has missed three good chances in the first three games but does that mean that the rest of the team that haven’t threatened to score have done better?
As oldgold says, there's no end product with him.
You can't get much more comfortable than two clean sheets can you?

Talking of Ronaldo, I hear he's available for £25m. His wages are astronomical but you would cover that with shirt sales

Statistically that is less than 1.5 a game. Also how are they counted as for example only about 1 in 4 off his crosses are anywhere near any of our strikers.
I always find it hard to rate him as he is truly a gifted player but he does not have IMO, a football brain.
Traore is clearly a player that divides opinion. To me, with Neto out for months, if we sell Traore we would have to have a phenomenal week in the transfer window to end up with a team or squad as good as we had last season when we finished 13th. We already need two quality signings to progress without selling him

Jordao picked up an injury in January while on loan at Familicao. Had an operation a couple of months ago. He is now back doing light training at Compton

That's a very good point. He was out on loan last season but where has he disappeared to?
Sorry Spangles didn't read your explanation before posting.
We have a dynamic duo for the Man Utd game. Mike Dean as referee and last week’s ref Atwood on VAR
No chance of an impartial performance from the notorious Penited fan, Mike Dean.

Agree with this to a degree. If we sold him early the fine, but now I have zero faith we would do anything good with the money with a week left.

May as well write off that game
The fixture list computer hasn't done us any favours this year has it?
Yeah it is a little sad that we are basically happy to throw away the first month of the season. Our bench right now is pretty laughable.
