We started like this last season and it was because we were unfit, we were supposed to see something different this season, hopefully next game sancho and varane start but we so badly need a dm, otherwise expect more of the same
We may lack a DM, but why compound the problem playing Lindelof, Maguire and Matic.
Shambolic line up.

Think ole underestimated the crowd as strange as it sounds, we aint coming bk to win 12-14 this year if we go a goal down, probably thought they are rubbish i could put anyone in and win
Our players were understandably leggy after winning the title last weekend. Southampton were always going to be up for it as they tried to bounce back from being relegated last weekend. We are looking like top 4 at best. That could all change next weekend where we could win the title back.
I am not going to overreact as this is just 2nd game. But like I have said throughout the summer, OGS this season no more bloody excuses. Going into 4 season at a club size of Manchester United, this manager has to challenge for the league and deliver a trophy minimum here. Going by today, I don't trust this manager to do either but let's see

I'd play Bailly ahead of Maguire. Not to mention Varane!
Everyone complained how bad defensively we were against Villareal, how we missed Maguire. Yet look at that today. Which we saw many times last season with Maguire in the team.
We thrash Leeds and struggle to Southampton—no different to last season so far.

when teams open up we destroy them
when they park the bus or press us high up the pitch we struggle
Ralf took off his best attacker but that sub changed the game. it looked like a routine win for us but he didn't sit back. Instead he exploited all our weakness from last season and went for it.
Expect more performances like this.
We'll go on a great run of form before xmas and then the team will be run in to the ground again by Ole.
it's gonna be a long season.
The really top teams would be attacking relentlessly towards the end of that game, seeking out a winner. And they'd probably have got it. So long as our players aren't actually fit enough to do that, we'll be a long way off where we want to be. Not being good enough is forgivable, not being fit enough isn't.

Good luck to the players—they'll have to work harder to compensate for poor management again.
