Traore as a right wing back?

Dani Alves had less attributes than Adama Traore. Wow...just wow

What absolute nonsense

Not for me

Stick to the 433.

I was keen on the 343 at start of transfer window but after the business we have done and the amount of wingers we have and the types of CMs, I'm not sure it's the best option anymore. Saying that I think Romero would be better in a back 3

Not sure you watched him as a winger...he was slower and less strong. He then got converted to a wing back. Before you use your hyperbole do some research or ask for clarification.

If we do sign him, I can see him being deployed like Moses in the Conte's Chelsea formation

I would never have thought Navas could be converted to a right back also but he's done well playing that role for Sevilla. More mature performances but still has pace to nullify most wing forwards.

Not talking about the position I am talking about the player. You said that Alves had less attributes than Traore which is absolute bollox

nah stick him in the front 3 where he can absolutely torment defenders and bash them up for the full 90. I think he would make so many chances for kane / son, even if he isnt involved in the move because him being on the pitch completely changes the way you have to defend because when he is the mood I dont think you can defend him one on one. I dont think its possible. hes quicker than everyone and stronger than everyone, and reasonably skillful.

just has fack all end product but hopefully he can manage a square pass to kane

"Mad idea but Navas and Dani Alves both converted to full backs and they had less attributes than Traore."

WTF

Alves was 100x the player in nearly all departments.

Traore is stronger and faster, I'll give you that.

As you wish...some of the key attributes for wingback is pace strength dribbling and crossing. If you feel a young Alves had more of these attributes when converting to a wingback..I leave you to your conclusions.

Devil's in the detail. OP isn't about the finished Alves I'm referencing the attributes at the time of conversion of role. Not sure many of you saw a young Dani Alves when he first broke into the scene. If you did, you might understand what I'm talking about.

Traore is 25, roughly the same age Alves was when he signed for Barcelona.

You still making my point. I said at the point of conversion to the role...it doesn't matter the age..its when you get retrained...Traore could be retrained IF this is Nunos plan. I think Nuno might have seen this potential in him at Wolves as highlighted by the link in the OP.

But he's nowhere near as good on the ball, doesn't have the same intelligence and his passing isn't as good.

Please, let's not spend £40m on a player who we don't need, who by everyone's admission is massively frustrating with questionable end product and not much of a football brain, and then not even play him in his natural position

I love your ideas Ioavirgo, but not this one

He was terrible at RWB at Wolves.

Fair enough, I think we need Tomiyasu, creative mid and a striker. This would be a top conclusion to the window

Then not sure where he fits but if we do sign him I dont want him reducing Bergwijn or Gils game time.

Agreed, I also touched on that also. Incidently Roberto Carlos crossing wasn't great either but was brilliant at overlapping runs and getting into the box.

Tomiaysu would be great as he can cover RB and CB.

Just read Leeds rejected Winks on loan so if we are looking at off loading him, Ndombele and Sissoko (who is close to joining Watford) then I would expect at least 2 CM's and a forward.

Lots depend on Winks and Ndombele obviously.

Winks aint going anywhere.

Wolves insist that #thfc target Adama Traoré is NOT for sale and the winger could now sign a new contract.

📰 @MailSport

I don't believe the new contract bit but believe the first part.

Exactly my feeling, which is why I really hope we don't sign him. I'm sure he's better than I give him credit for, but I just do not see how we need another attacking forward / winger. So many other positions we need to strengthen, not more competition for a place where no one seems to get a regular run as it is!

Should be a fun window for once. Team not looking as terrible as some doom mongers made out. We definitely new signings and some bright sparks in the academy have allowed us to focus on first teamers instead of bench warmers.
