Goal 99 for salah?

I haven’t seen it, but doesn’t the double jeopardy rule (ie. where you don’t give both a pen and a red) have the caveat of the defender making a genuine attempt to win the ball? If it’s a deliberate handball, I don’t see how the ref / VAR have any choice but to give both.

Maybe I’ve misinterpreted the rules, though, and it’s different for handballs? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Isn’t it interpreted different if it results in stopping an inevitable goal even when unintentional?

James batted it out of the goal. Seen by everyone including Taylor, but he waved it on. Thank god for VAR pulling him up on it. Pen and off.

I'm not sure what the debate is.

every decision has gone Chelsea way, as soon it goes against them they cry like babies, also the ref wants to take off the blue shirt.

I think the initial contact is fine but then the follow through clearly is deliberate in pushing the ball away from goal

I popped down to check on the vanilla and ginger ice cream I was making, come back and it’s a peno, red card and on pitch fights

I can see how the ref has missed it in real time and crowded frenetic penalty area with the crowd going mental.

That's what var is for and it worked perfectly there.
