Take out all the games lukaku didn't score why don't you

Oh yeah drogba no doubt offered more, I just don’t subscribe to the fact he wasn’t that prolific. Take away pens and I wouldn’t be suprised if he was around top 20 in terms of goals per minute in the pl

If you think his 1st season was good enough overall fair enough that’s your opinion I won’t argue any more.

……

As I said earlier and you chose to ignore. Wazza, our best ever goal scorer, only beat Lukaku’s first season twice.

So take your head out of your ar$e and wise up.

Trouble with Lukaku, was he never turned up in big games, or when it mattered.

He averaged bearer to 1 in 3, but when you look at it more closely, he was scoring 2 in games and at times that never mattered.

OP,
He wasn’t poor at United. He was good, actually, but he was benched to make room for Rashford, in order to please the fans and the British media. That’s why he asked to leave. Lukaku always scored goals wherever he played. The question you should ask is why he didn’t score as many goals as he used to under Ole?

I hate these types of argument. Chelsea need a player to score against the average sides - we've had trouble scoring since Costa was forced out. The team will win the harder games and the forward's job is to make space for other players. Chelsea had 4 good chances at Anfield, and Lukaku's movement was involved in 3 of them.

Does that include PSG away in CL?

I’m not talking about him signing for Chelsea, I think that’s a good signing

We have others that did that, pogba for a large part of his time here, though that’s not as true these days. . I do wonder how lukaku would have faired had he been playing for us this season, and his medical issues sorted.

Wazza offered far more than just goals Lukaku didn’t. When Wazza needed to be our main source of goals he broke 30 in both seasons while playing far better than Lukaku.

Yes, and his 1 goal in the PL vs the “big 6” for us

I read he has 16 in 60 bs the big 6.

I’m sure 3 of his 16 were against Utd in why was basically an exhibition for Fergies last game too?

That’s 1 game. 1 game where individual errors gifted him 2 chances. He still had to put them away but he barely showed up in big games.

Yes, it was the wrong signing at the wrong time I think tbh.

He’s in a better place both mentally and physically now. Old Trafford was toxic under Jose so a lot of players would have struggled.

I take no issue with Lukaku, but during his time at Utd he didn’t live up to expectations.

I made a similar argument. Mourinho always has a good first season / season and a half but then his was of motivating players is to create a siege mentality and he ends up creating a very toxic atmosphere. The worst is when he openly starts turning on his own players and pits one against another. Horribly odious man.

Lukaku’s goal scoring was never an issue at United. It was his poor decision making, poor work rate and donkey fist touch that were rightly criticized.

…..

Oh do shut the eff up. You are acting like a child now. Admit you were wrong and move on. Twenty seven goals in a season is not poor.

I’m acting like a child? It was 26 goals. I’ve said he was excellent for the 1st 10 games but is 16 goals in the other 3 quarters of the season good enough?

Answer the actual question rather than firing back with with how many he scored overall.

….

Not where I am looking.

And I don’t split a season up into quarters. I am not that special. I view players over a whole season not a part of it. So does everyone else I know.

So if a player performs for quarter of a season that boosts his stats he’s had a good season?

I’m not disagreeing with you any more but I felt he was not good enough for the majority of his United career. Just my opinion.
