Yup, that is the EUFA view, of course FIFA can do what they like but it would be very surprising if they held a different view to UEFA at this point.
I suspect these attempts to change it will not go away, because there's money in it.

oh i see. well i cant see them getting their way if either of the continents reject it tbh.
UEFA probably don't want it because it jeopardises the Euros.
In reality it isn't that bad an idea. I dont think it devalues the competition that much as long as you do away with the continental competitions. Which personally I wouldn't mind (UEFA already massively reduced the quality of the Euros when they increased it to 24 teams). But I don't think any of the continental federations would go for it.
those poor teams from the 24 are still better than some of the carp that qualifies for the world cup
...like USA, N Korea or Algeria who all as "crappy" teams beat England, Italy n Germany at world cups in iconic games n acheevments.

Maybe true. But comparing the group stages from WC 2018 to Euro 2020, the former definitely threw up far more interesting games. Naturally it will - you might have some pīss poor teams like Saudi, but as well as all of Europe's big hitters you have the strong South American teams and the best from Africa, Asia etc who might not be great teams but tend to each have 1 or 2 top players to make things interesting.
Not that I don't enjoy the Euros but ever since they increased the number of teams it's pretty much become a poor man's world cup. I would definitely prefer to see a world cup every 2 years if given the choice (I get that FIFA aren't proposing to scrap the Euros but for argument's sake)
I appreciate I speak as a fan of a nation who qualifies with each tournament with ease though. Totally understand why some of the smaller nations wouldn't feel the same way.
Would prefer they just let all teams into these tournaments and don't bother with qualifying or internationals interrupting the league's.
For the world cup just straight knock out, you could have an extended period for warm up games prior to each tournament but that's it.

That is exactly the same argument used to justify the ESL breakaway.
Pyramids, international rankings, seedlings.
Instead of coming up with ridiculously bad ideas to rip the soul out of the WC I wish he'd use some of that brain power to help us get this useless fecker out of the club. If I was him I couldn't sit by and watch Arteta destroy everything, ethos and all.
Personally I'd like him to throw his hat in with his former captains and help bring another financial big hitter in with Ek so the fans get get this club out of the hands of the yank who's destroying it and the team out of the hands of the Anti-Football PL Arsenal murdering Arteta.
Now THAT would be a far better use of his time instead of wasting it on seriously bad ideas like a 2yr WC.

It's really just an excuse to try and wriggle out of big teams having to accept humiliating defeats at Euros/WC when tournament dynamics dictate that at least one or two of them WILL get embarrassed by part timers. "Chop and change stuff so part timers can't get in then we don't have to see our 4mil a week teams shown in front billions up by a 4 grand a week one"
I think they should have more of the smaller teams in personally. When watching international tournaments though I watch and enjoy the heavy hitters doing their thing, my favourite matches (and usually the best) are the ones where the big team gets beat by nobody's. That's what the WC and Euros are for, it's funny AF to see, every time
Didnt Wenger also want the off side rule to be that there had to be day light between the players
I might just be a French thing. I am sure Platini promoted larger goals and goals scored from outside of the box being worth more. He also promoted the WC in Qatar
If it means continental competitions are rid off then why not. Will be more exciting. But if it means we still have Euros what’s the point. More injuries for players, plenty of games as it is in the calendar year.

The quality of the WC will be dragged to an all time low very soon with the increase in teams and the increase isn't based on quality of sides.
