I read somewhere that for 3 years Newcastle will be able to spend ridiculous amounts, because Ashley was so tight and was turning a profit, they are in a healthy state regarding any FFP (not that FFP is worth the paper it is written on) and only after 3 years will their spending be looked closely at.

You can also bet some random Saudi clubs will take some of Newcastle`s deadwood, such as Joelinton etc, for vastly inflated prices, and very lucrative sponsorship deals will be landing at St James Park.

It will be exactly the same as Man City, dodgy as, and worked around.

I hope the PL insists on every club player wearing rainbow laces and a rainbow armband each game next season in a show of solidarity to LGBT community.

Let's see how that goes down with the Saudis 😂😂😂

The rest of the country will be worried about their academies, just like they were with City and Chelsea. Particularly the clubs in the North East, it’s always been a region that produces good footballers but Newcastle have been such a mess and never taken advantage of their status in the region.

I can see them raiding Pool, a lot of their players are around 30 and have only 1 last mega contract in them, so would jump at the chance of the wages on offer.

Salah for example, he has just 18 months left on his Klanfield contract, approaching 30 and Pool will not be able to match the wages Newcastle will throw at him. You can bet his agent has already been approached.

The same applies to Mane and others, Pool`s owners are businessmen, and could see it as the right time to sell.
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Why do you think players who are around 30 and would, at this moment, walk into many top teams in the world (earning that last mega contract you mention), go to Newcastle who are not even in the CL, and realistically probably won’t qualify for the CL until the season after next (at the very earliest)?

It took City 3 years to qualify (and of course they only then actually played in the CL the season after that).

Well, Toby Alderwiereld has recently joined a Qatari club you facking plank. And he is way better than any player Newcastle have, so why wouldnt their deadwood go there in a dodgy deal for dodgy wages. You really do post some shiete pal, par for the course for a dipper though.

Not sure many current PL players will want to play in the Championship next season despite being paid well. Not sure that Salman of Saudi can do that much to prevent that being a real possibility this season

Let's hope that Newcastle get relegated this season. If they are to dominate English football one day soon due to this latest oil strike then they can at least do it the hard way.

Assuming they'll go the same route as us & City, phase one is creaming off some top players from the non top 6 PL teams + any underappreciated players from the top 6. Phase two you're looking at quality talent in B tier European clubs + underappreciated players from A tier. Phase 3 you have the first marquee signing & from there you just do your thing.

They might be stuck in phase one & two for a few years respectively cos their floor is lower & there's more obstacles in the way now, but that's the proven working formula

Won’t take a lot to ensure Newcastle stay up. Sacking Bruce would basically guarantee it.

The point being they were all capable of playing at a higher level but took the money instead. Some players will put money first.

It’ll be interesting to see who they appoint, and reveal a lot about their short term ambitions.

I think Conte will be a difficult one, as I’m not convinced they’ll be spending - and attracting - the kind of players he’d need to match his own ambitions.

Rodgers isn’t a bad shout, he won’t have any loyalty to Leicester.

You can. If you get them believing they can punch above their weight. It's happened every season in the PL. This season you have Brendford, although admittedly the season is still young. Last season Leeds. Leicester league win. Swansea first season under Rodgers in PL. Liverpool CL 2005. Even United's last league win is a good example.

Yes but not JUST money. That's the point. The players weigh up all options. Some of course will move for money but it's rare. Money is only one thing that is weighed up and of course can sway it from one option to another.
