So, the "gossip" pages have started already.
The Telegraph have got a "story" out saying they can buy Kane ( who isn't buying Kane these days ) AND Mbappe and not be breaking any FFP rules.

Suppose Sky Sports and all the outher outlets and Pundits won't be far behind with this one, given the media can't stop disrupting Spurs for more than 5 minutes.

They will probably come in for Kane and actually pay the crazy money Levy wants.

Oh yes, £200m for Kane, another £50m for Dele and we can build a new side

The only big club City were buying from in the PL at that time were Arsenal because they hadn't won anything in a while and were kind of vulnerable. City, United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all good enough right now that their players won't jump ship, except maybe the unwanted ones. So yeah, the teams below that like Spurs, Arsenal, maybe Leicester, are probably the best Newcastle can hope for. Any of the top talent from mid-table teams too like a Zaha, Calvert-Lewin etc..

Who cares?

Footballs dead. What’s the point? Whoever has the most money wins. Doesn’t matter about anything else.

Newcastle will go from useless to winning everything because a very very rich person bought them. Just like city and Chelsea before them.

There’s no honour, or achievement in it anymore. I can’t be bothered with it.

Can Newcastle players really take the knee now? Knowing where their wages will be coming from?

I only wish those who was so brilliant in opposing and getting rid of the ESL would see that the premier league IS the ESL. Or will be shortly.

Saw a Facebook post stating that it would now cost you over £100 a month to legally watch all the available live football in the uk. Mental.

I think Kane would have to see Newcastle making progress before he signed for them. Maybe win a domestic cup or challenge top 4 before he decides there's a chance he's going to see a trophy more quickly with them than with Spurs. I mean there probably already is now but that would be confirmation of it.

Hopefully we win the Euro conference this season whilst Newcastle start adding quality players. Next summer we sell Kane for £200m and get Poch back to oversee a rebuild

There's no way we will sell Kane for more than he was touted this summer. That ship has sailed. Less time on his contract and looks like he'll have a poorer season than last too.

They won't be able to attract the top talent for a few years yet.

They will need to buy players like Lingard, VDB, Martial, and other decent players who aren't cutting it at the top clubs.

That should give them a footing in the top half of the table/Ropey league football. It will be interesting who they can attract at that point.

Ramsey, coutinho, lacazette... All realistic and available that would improve them

Depends on who they appoint as manager really tho

I could see them get Aubameyang off Arsenal. Think they'll be replacing him before long anyway as he's 32. Not sure it's exactly a statement signing but he's still got quality.

Apparently they’ve made enquiries about Anthony Martial. Very logical deal there for all parties.

Even if they spend a fortune and pay top dollar wages it will take Newcastle years to catch City and Chelsea. As Kane is 28 he will want a team that are already winning things rather than potentially.

The story is a load of media manufactured cocksnot, it must be an International break.

I don’t get why people equate this with the super league. They aren’t, and have never been, the same issue.

That is a good point. Kane's motivational leaving Spurswas medals and trophy. Newcastle-upon-Tyne are unlikely to deliver r that for at least two seasons.

Dear Olever Twist, please sell them our deadweights, uselesses and rejects like Jones, Lingard, van de Beek, Martial, Fred, Bailly at 50%-80% discount.

There will be a knock-on effect like there was when City was taken over. Teams like Southampton will get top dollar for their players, where's before they spent weeks/months bargaining. Prices will become inflated even more than they are now. The rest of the prem will be getting the cast-offs unless the prem really toughens up the FFP rules.

Prices won't become inflated again. Previously they did because new clubs entered the bidding war but other clubs were still able to compete. Barca, real even Munich and PSG have been hesitant to pay big fees with covid so I don't think Newcastle alone will cause inflation for other clubs. Will they still get quoted silly prices? 100% but I don't see it effecting the market for other teams unless they are interested in the player. It'll be some time before the best players even have Newcastle on their radar.

Yeah I'd be surprised if they got Kane. Wouldn't be surprised to see them try mind.

I don't think they'll bag themselves a really world class player for at least two years (and that's if everything goes perfectly). There's a lot more foundations to lay than there was with City & certainly us - we had a young, top class spine & CL football straight away.

Alli on the other hand? Now that I can see as early as January especially if either Gerrard or Lampard take over. I'm guessing Spurs fans won't have much of a problem with that?

Gerrard or Lampard? That seems risky to employ either of them at this point and kind of unambitious. Newcastle had Benitez before Bruce who you would say is a better manager than either. I'm sure they could go for a more top manager than that if they wanted.

If they want an English attacking mid, Lingard’s a better player and available on a free in the summer. More versatile as well, which will be helpful if they have some hope for Willock being any good.
