I'd say Chelsea were reliant on Mendy and Silva.
But both are quite comfortably top three in their position so it might just work.

Kante is the player wecrely on the most over a whole season. If he is injured fir a long time we are more likely to drop points.
I think Chelsea will be right up there myself. Still dull to watch atm though.

As good as Kante is in the type of situations you faced today it will always be either Mendy or Silva that will come up clutch.
I'm a champion of the underdog and it is a little annoying both won't get the warranted credit. The former cause he ain't a big name and the latter cause he's supposedly too old (right up there with Dias and VVD for me even at his age).
Keylor Navas faced similar issues to what Mendy currently does. Easily the best in the world mid 00s but for some reason people wanted to pass him off as some lucky chancer who fell into a machine at the perfect time.

Mendy is getting plenty of credit from Chelsea fans.
I went to the Spurs v Chelsea game and Silva gave the best CB performance I have ever seen in a stadium.
But Kante is an irrepressible force that sucks the energy and motivation out of opponents. I think he is utterly unique.

Performances have not been good this season. Still learning how to play with Lukaku up front.
We were a lot better to watch last season when we pressed high up the pitch resulting in us creating a lot of goal scoring chances. That style of play doesn’t work with Lukaku.
Its Liverpools to lose. Chelsea rely on Lukaku and Man C will get held to a few 0-0 draws as they lack a CF. Liverpool have too many goals in them not to win.

I think cfc fans will realise eventually that they aint winning the league...maybe in a couple of months when realisation atarts to dawn.
Tbh...incredibly lucky Vs brentford today...very fortunate Vs us at Anfield and easily on another day lose both thise games....as i said over a season chooks come home to roost and i expect the cfc fans to start moaning that lukaku doesn't do enough...tuchel is too negative etc etc.

I am confused by these simultaneous comments on this thread where Lukamu is being criticised for not scoring and for being rubbish yet Chelsea are over reliant on him.
Can someone explain these how these two views work in harmony?
Chelsea will be there at the end. Fecking insipid and miserable to watch though.
Notice reading through this how no Chelsea fans give two f's about us being called boring, which is a totally subjective thing. But you tell Pool fans their cross spammers that won the title wasn't the easiest on the eyes (not an unpopular opinion) & it's a VERY different story.
Who'd have thought Pool fans are a bit touchy?
Chelsea have 17 goals this season sored by 12 different goal scorers we dont rely on any one striker but if Pool lose salah for a month you wont get any points.

But did they?
Yeah the relying on Lukaku point fundamentally doesn't make sense. As someone early doors on this article stated we won the Champions League, 100% deserved, with a team that was literally the same except him being in it
So, I'm gunna say no to that
Cfc fans all know that lukaku is more than scoring goals...u can hoof it to him and he pins defenders and brings mf in to play....
Have you not noticed how u do.this?? Without him you will score less goals and have bo chance of the league...whos ur back.up Werner??....hes the reason u bought lukaku!
If we lose salah...in comes jota.....we have FOUR top class forwards.
Over the season cfc will fall short......u will see...
