Strong rumors Jules Kounde wants a transfer to Utd. Possible partner for Varane, which should mean the end of Slabhead, flog him to Newcastle!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

He can be with Maguire and Varane in Conte’s back 3

Liverpool links so a big no.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To me, that's not important. Robb mentioned Sir Matt, who played for City and Liverpool, for example. Different era, admittedly. But it's not really important to me, so long as they can come in and improve our fortunes on the pitch.

I was quite happy when we signed Owen, for example. And whilst he wasn't really a roaring success, he did score what must rank in my top 5 favourite United goals ever.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The goal in the League Cup against Barnsley, obviously.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

The hattrick against Wolfsburg 😎

I just can't stomach a Liverpool reject managing Utd. Just a personal abhorrence towards Liverpool.

Top 5 favourite , you can't be serious! 😂

Hypothetically, if Klopp walked out on Liverpool to become United manager, would you really say no to him though? He'd be a terrific appointment, so I'd be delighted. And the thought of him actually coming back to haunt them would only make the appointment more desirable for me.

Obviously, there's a limit. I wouldn't want Steven Gerrard to be appointed as our manager, for example. But by and large, I can put the rivalry aside if the signing or appointment is for the betterment of the team

Potter would work on paper but is he a big enough personality to manage Utd and all the egos in our dressing room?

Surely the last thing United need is another coach that prefers to grind out results/has a dull style of football?

Conte has a chance of winning something but it's still slim with City, Chelsea and Liverpool all being at a very high level (or likely to be).

Obviously you guys may well feel differently but from another club in an even worse mess, I'd put attacking, entertaining football above anything else right now

Yep, maybe not looking back now. But I mean, more in terms of how excited I was at that time. Given what an incredible game it was, given Tevez playing on their side in that game etc

Klopp would never sign for Utd, he's held highly by pool fans so would never do anything to tarnish his legendary status.

I just so fecking wish we signed Klopp before Liverpool got in there!

I abhor Liverpool but also abhor Brenda for how pretentious he was there. We can do better.

My arm could be twisted with Klopp though and I'd forgive him for having Liverpool links but doubt he'd sign for us.

Yeah, would never happen. It was just a hypothetical. It's bad enough that Pep and Klopp are currently managing our rivals but it's compounded by the fact that means they'd never mansge United. Rodgers, on the other hand, I'm sure would but isn't at that level and is a bit of a gobshite.

As someone said earlier, he has toned it down a lot since going to Celtic though and has become more tolerable

I think Jadon the King Sancho pointed out to me in a different thread that in the history of the game no team has invested so much yet failed to yield so little in success as Utd since SAF retired! Just bonkers that we seem cursed, nothing fecking works!

If we don’t win a trophy by the end of next year it’ll be the longest the club has gone without a trophy since the dark days of the mid 70s

That pass by Giggsy was as good as the goal too!

Hard to say. Any prospective coach will have big question marks because the best suited managers for the job are already at rivals. So pick your poison.

Look at the managers though, Moyes? a passed it LVG? An equally passed it Mourinho? Ole?

All complete clown appointments for a start

posted on 17/10/21

Tbh while I rate Potter I think the job could destroy him right now. I feel he needs a club between Brighton and United before he’d take over.

Comparatively, you’re probably looking at Inter in the 90’s in terms of what was spent compared to what was won.

Some of the idiots here compare SAF's early struggles with Ole!

I mean SAF was hardly helped and abated by 441m of transfers, was he?! If he was he would have been a success from the get go!

Doesn't matter how much we spend, who we draft in as manager it just does not work out. That for me is depressing af!

I think they’ve always been the real deal. They just suffered last season with a mental injury crisis at the back. Even then they still came third. Plus don’t underestimate how having fans back helps them. Probably more than any other club, their home fans are a 12th man

Yeah, they are looking ominously good. They're actually blowing teams away far more impressively than they did when they won the league two years ago. They often relied on late goals to grind out narrow victories that year. Hopefully we can find something to at least take points off them next week. If we don't they could go on a massive winning streak
