The Monday nigh ko must fck with your European games, no?
It’s 2 individual mistakes that cost us, but that’s what can happen when you can’t control a game, score enough goals, don’t create chances, sit back hand momentum over. You’re always at risk of dropping points like that due to small margins.
This pattern of lack of maintained control and inability to build attacks has been a real problem under Arteta, as well as how vulnerable we are to a press. It’s a clear issue he’s shown no promise of changing, bar the odd 10 minute spell. Generally he’s done alright with the defence but the midfield and attack hasn’t improved at all
Palace were the much better side and should have been 3 or 4-1 ahead b4 Lacas lucky goal. They controlled the midfield and bullied our players. We had no answer except to lose possession and concede 2 goals
It's an awful watch and has been since Arteta took over.
Glad you are finally getting it Castor. Players, good or bad need the system to work. A good manager can make the most average player look world class and a world class player can be failed by the system.

I have been critical of Arteta for a while now.
But you still constantly blame players as if a new £50m+ player will make a difference. It won't if the manager has no clue.

Especially when that 50m+ player is only worth 25 tops really
It does amaze me though that Arteta can send the team out and fans can watch it own the opposition for 20-30 mins whilst playing a certain way. Then you see Arteta start yelling and waving at players, the way we play changes becoming defensive and laboured, then it all falls apart and we get a poor result. And at the end of it all fans hammer on the players who were all doing just fine until Arteta got up and started barking instructions.
How are people not seeing the direct link between Arteta's interference and the whole game dynamic changing. This season with the switch to 4 2 31 it's so plain and obvious to see it's unreal. The pacey attacking and high press both turn off and the team retreats back into our half as though he has a "Back to Artetaball" breaker switch in the dugout. Fans have GOT to stop blaming the players for the incompetence of the manager. HE'S the problem not the players!

Leno, Bellerin, Sokratis, Luiz, Guendouzi, Torreira, Pepe, Ozil, Auba and Laca, Martinelli...these are players a competent manager would have playing MUCH MUCH better than Arteta ever did. Yes..many of them were/are not the answer...but htey sure as heck played/play well below their capabilities for us when Arteta came in
