Wow, you are 50... At least another 50 years to go. I think Harry Kane will finish his (peak) career at Spurs.

And probably will move to US or China at 34 or 35

Could be I'm a Sandy 50, really 16 but changing my age for sh#ts and giggles.

So you were born in 71, So that means you have seen West Ham win 2 trophies in your lifetime and probably only one that you remember - commiserations.

Mind you, that’s still more than kingdom of diiildos

I wanted to go and see Leicester playing at Stamford Bridge (just as well I didn’t) and my brother asked mum for money to go to Upton Park. Neither of us finished up going anywhere.

You are correct, but to be fair Spurs have only won the league cup a couple of times in the last 30 years and the most recent was, what, 15 odd years ago?

Hardly a trophy haul to be making such a big thing about.

At least there is a lasting reminder of the game. I remember one newspaper’s headline of “Six No Five Says Hurst” or words to that effect.

Sure but Spurs have won 6 major honours since West Ham last won 1, yet we’re supposedly rivals?

Well as neither Spurs or West Ham have a single remaining player or indeed coaching staff since either team won anything I'd say yes. Exact rivals, no one at either club has ever won anything for said club. Can't get a more even rivalry than that.

Ledley King is on the coaching staff though.

I’m sure you lot could dig someone out of the old folks home and give them an ambassadorial role

Lesley King!

Well possibly, but then he was always injured, so he isn't.

Let's cut right to to the chase, decades ago Spurs had a good team and won things.

Then for 30 odd years all they won was the lowest domestic trophy, the last win being 15ish years ago.

More recently Spurs did quite well in the league, not winning it obviously, but quite well. That's good though according to their fans (and the fact that very same fans spent the best part of a decade taking the mickey out of Arsenal for doing exactly the same now needs conveniently to be forgotten).

The top 4 thing seems to have gone now though, so Spurs right now? A mixed bag of players and a manager Wolves were not interested in keeping.

Are they a bad team? No, but upper midtable mediocrity. Would a large group of pundits or knowledgeable fans say that unlike last year they may finish above the Hammers this season? I reckon that would be 50/50.

It's OK, according to Striketeam7, Wigan, Portsmouth, Birmingham and so on are all bigger clubs than Spurs because they have won a trophy more recently.

The point being that even in this terrible barren spell the club is going through we have still achieved greater success than West Ham and last years West Ham side was one of their best in their top flight history.

We did challenge for the league, we did make the Champions League final but we fell short. Meanwhile West Ham rehires a manager they had previously discarded after giving Pellegrini the keys to the safe. Just when it looked like West Ham might make top 4 they shat themselves at the death.

Look Striketeam7, the fact is despite Spurs winning the League when there was still sweet rationing your present team is pretty much equal to West Ham's. So look back on your far, far past with painful longing as much as you wish, but in the here and now I (and the majority of pundits) have us as rivals for the top six.

I see Leicester and Everton as threats to that, West Ham will be dropping plenty of points after mid week European games

West Ham will be battling for 9th with arsenal come the end of the season. They are not built for European football and that will mess them up. Didn’t they lose to Astra goo goo last time?
