This is the proof that ALL football clubs need to be point blank banned from signing children under upper high school ages. This sh!t is messed up in a big way and this poor kid's the poster child for just how demented things have gotten. He's feckin FOUR FGS, leave the kid be to have a normal life a bit longer jeez.
Doesn't get more "Merc industry and parental greed preying on kids," than this really. Ban clubs from approaching/signing any child less than 16. They want the talent out there to get good coaching and training before 16 then FECKIN WELL INVEST BIG IN GRASS ROOTS AND NATIONAL SCHOOLS FOOTBALL!!!
A PL/FA and government funded school/after-school system can discover/scout, train and mentally prepare more talented young footballers than their football academies ever could. They'll get mini versions of great footballers popping up all over the country every year along with a bundle of talented 16 yr olds who've finished school and are actually READY to be focused in the way the modern game desires. Meanwhile lil babies tots and tweenies can be left the feck alone to just get to be kids.
When I was about 8, I wrote to Ron Saunders at Aston Villa, asking for a trial. He wrote personally wrote a letter back saying write back when you are 13.
Imagine that now. I'd be invited down the next week!
