Eh?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We saw you in the stands trying to get to the Coventry fan, pushing the stewards back. Sounded like armegeddon on Radio Derby
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Sounds like typical local radio wibble.

can't believe that, scousers never queue for anything, just elbow their way to the front.

Someone fell on me from the row above when we scored. Nice chap, completely plastered. Got his leg stuck and we freed him. Then he did it again a few minutes later.

On that showing, are Coventry that much better than us? They were clearly buoyed by recent results and their crowd and gave us no space or time first half but man for man, I'm not sure they have many better players than ours. We just had a few too many off their games and Joz and Feste were rightly substituted.

What a difference Sibs and CKR made! Suddenly there was self-belief as the Coventry defence was given something to think about.

Highlights for me - Bird throughout as I don't think he misplaced one pass, Roos' superb save to deny a second goal (it was not evident in real time but the replay showed how brilliant it was), our goal and all who contributed to it, the general spirit of the squad in the face of all the adversity and continual bad luck (eg Knight having to miss out) and finally and most important the fabulous support from our away fans. (I was not aware of any crowd trouble.)

One of these days (surely?) something will click and we'll start getting some more goals.

Coventry fans are saying the same thing about two hard games for their team and a limited number of players. .Annoying this season is that the only club which managed to keep its quality players is the poxy little club at the top of the table.

I thought Festy was fine but Morrison failed to release the ball early enough for him to have a chance of taking on his man. I didn't actually think Sibley achieved all that much. Wide left isn't his position. CKR made a huge difference.

100% this.

If just three of our draws had been wins without the -12, we'd be 5th!

Morning after view :
Morning all. Well that felt like a win didn't it....as opposed to the game v Luton - which felt like a loss.
Anyway as they say, a game of 2 halves eh. We were doing ok until they were awarded the type of Penalty we dont get anymore. From that moment on until half time we seemed to lack energy and belief and Coventry in fairness to them looked good. I thought we missed Knights energy - particularly in the first half when we were over run at times. I was a bit surprised that Waghorn didnt play - but havent heard whether he's done much this season at his new team.
Anyway, thoughts as follows :
1. Shinnie, my MOM today. Back to his best after a quietish game on Tuesday.
2. Morrison seemed tired today - although always the type of player that can create something.
3. CKR. Gave Coventry something to think about and almost scored. Our Talisman.
4. Roos. Didnt really have much to do - but didnt let us down when called upon.
5. The back line. All good and both wing backs put in a real shift.
6. Max Bird. Becoming the player we always hoped he would be.
7. Rosenior. Handled the day well in the absence of the Manager and was positively overjoyed with the result.
8. The fans. Great noise and support. Thank you all who went and kept the team going.
....onwards to Blackburn - a team that put 4 past us last year if I remember rightly.....with a certain Bradley Johnson getting 2 of them.....UTR

I really enjoyed the game in the end. First half we were very poor. They swarmed around us and panicked us into giving the ball away cheaply. Midfield seemed unable to get on the ball and we were camped in our own half. Second half we stepped up a gear and they stepped down and we were in control, playing good snappy passing football as has been the case for most of the season. We didn’t really look much like scoring though until CKR came on and then suddenly we had a focal point. After Shinnie’s goal we continued to dominate rather than trying to bed in for the draw which was good to see.

I thought Shinnie had a lacklustre first half but was excellent in the second. Bird was MOM for me over the ninety. Morrison was very frustrating in his reluctance to play a quick simple pass to an unmarked player but also got much better as the game went on, as did Lawrence who was completely isolated in the first half.

Jozwiak looks less and less like ever becoming a useful player for us. He seems to try hard but nothing comes of it and he struggles with the basics of decision-making. Buchanan also was well below his best. I felt Ebosele carried a threat again but wasn’t given the ball early enough when he had a bit of space to run at his man.

If CKR can get fully fit and start games we ought then to pick up a few more goals just from better ball retention in the opponent’s half. Davies and Jagielka again were extremely good throughout and it’s a pleasure to see such superb professional go about their work. The atmosphere was terrific and I’m sure it helped carry the team on. The bother with the Coventry fans completely passed me by as I was towards the other side of the stand.

Thanks Vidal & Terry for your takes.
Think I'll give the first half a miss, but looking forward to watching the 2nd half later

There's probably some clever function on The Times website which prevents this?

Just watching Shinnie's celebrations from different angles.

Well there is certainly a not-clever function on this humble crofter.

After the final whistle too Ang. We were giving it the full “Scottish Pirlo” as they walked off and he responded with the double clenched fist salute all the way back to the tunnel.

Will look out for that, Vidal.
Has the Bryson 'He's Scottish....' chant been adapted yet, or is that still sacrosanct ?

CKR was pretty cool in waiting for Byrne to arrive before his nonchalant pass.

Then some "Man Utd" luck with the deflection to Shinniesta and bingo.

Why o why do we put so few low hard crosses into the box tho?
