I do find it odd myself. Seemingly think they're this elite club but they are pretty much where they always are and always will be.
I've alaways thought of spurs natural position as being between 7th and 10th in the table.
Poch is an excellent manager who boosted them to the top 4 but when he left he took the boost with him.
Now they are slowly sliding back to their natural position....

You can when 1+1=6 Shiiteteam7
Jol and Redknapp has us either 4th or competing for it.
We’re still the joint 5th most successful side in England and 3rd behind Liverpool and United for total European trophies.
It’s not Liverpool or United level but it’s definitely the next rung down and we don’t like what we are seeing at our club. Poor football style - which will always be a big sticking point with Spurs fans as we are used to free flowing attacking football.
Then there is Levy with his chronic under investment in the team - Harry Kane’s back up this season is a 17 year old with no senior goals. We had the managerial farce only to end up with our 9th choice.
We have no back bone.
We are treating the Euro comp like it’s beneath us even though we are dog shieet at the moment.
Other fans seem to get a little annoyed at how well supported the club is as this site would attest to. The reason we remain a big club despite our lack of recent success is due to our large fan base and even the opposition wanting to talk about us.

They really aren't!!
Tbf Poch getting top 4 was a much bigger achievement than Jol or Redknapp when there was far less competition at the top top end of the table.
Since then Levy lucked out with Poch, didn't seem to appreciate what he had, lost it and can't luck into the same situation again.
You can say Spurs lucked out with Poch but the reality is that they lucked out with Kane.

No we bought Salah and pay Klopp £15m a year you thick cvnt. That;s not luck.
When Spurs spend money it's on dross, which is why Spurs haven't won a major trophy in your adult lifetime.
We lucked out with TAA though, but then again we consistently produce quality youth products.
Spurs are simply not an elite club and you are near enough where you always have been and likely always will be.

Yeah...they were very lucky not to win a damned thing...
Everyone thinking we lucked out with Poch is forgetting we won nothing with him, had qualified for the Champions league before his arrival and had great players as well.
Now Poch was great for us, I loved him and he should never have been sacked, but it’s ridiculous to claim we were just a mid table side before him. The club had been in the ascendency for the best off of a decade before that, starting with Jol then Redknapp before Poch kicked us on again.
We are going backwards now because our manager is poor, our chairman constantly leaves the squad short, the second string lack any sort of desire to compete for a place in the first 11, we act like certain competitions are beneath us and generally there is no over arching plan at the club on the footballing side at this point.

Knobbing, I don’t understand your obsession with Spurs, are you sure you are not secretly a Chelsea fan?
So spending money on Salah who looked good but was nowhere near his current level is not kicking out, but Spurs training and nurturing Kane into the player he is today is lucking out?
You can argue that historically 6th is about where we usually are in the league, but by the same token I would say we should have many more trophies as historically we used to pick up many. We went from finishing bottom half of the table consistently in the 90’s to Jol taking us to the cusp of top 4, then Redknapp getting us into the top 4, then Poch having us get to the Champions league final.
