Only four words trigger me. ‘Australian’ and ‘Ole is staying’

Other than those it’s fair game

Nothing triggers you more than criticisms of Lukaku.

Any other club in the world loses to their main rival by that margin and the manager is gone.

Wow.....

That's not true

c'mon guys we have come along way on this site together over the years.

Nobody believes anymore that Ole can survive much longer the way it's panned out this season. Some blame Ole more than others... but the hard facts dictate that is hasn't been good enough this season. Unless something really drastic happens in the next couple of weeks.

No surprise here if true.

MUFC have invested heavily on Ole and his programme for the future in the summer and seem to believe in it. I would think they would be very hesitant to chuck it all in the bin after just 9 games.

In fact the more you think about it it would be crazy.

Also they will look at the CL table and see United sitting pretty

However if we continue to lose, they really will have no choice but to wield the axe.

Next 3 results should make their minds up either way.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Not just 9 games though is it, 3 games in the CL and a cup game too
----------------------------------------------------------------------

12 then. Well now you say that...

Good grief
----------------------------------------------------------------------
13 games, genius.

The players are horrendous at the basics of the game because they were sent out to be slaughtered like lambs.

Half that team is unfit or injured or overplayed. If not then they are out of form and their confidence is in the gutter but they are not taken out of the firing line.

That's a serious failing for a manager who refuses to try anything different and keeps expecting results to improve.

This is a guy who played rashford until he broke his back to save his job. A guy who's ruined Fernandes. A guy who refuses to drop Maguire.

He is out of his depth - the basic mistakes and shocking results are no surprise, this has been building for a couple of years.

Right, but the players can’t say too much as tactics aside, not even a few of them, the majority of them were absolutely horrific in even the basics in that game.

I get the argument he’s not up for the job, I’ve said the exact same thing across his entire tenure and thought hiring him in the first place was incredibly cynical. There’s a lot of your fanbase that didn’t think that though who are now calling for his head now before giving him a chance to even try and redeem what happened.

It’s that element I’m questioning. If you didn’t question him in the summer, then I don’t get why you’re not suggesting he should be given more time now. None of the “well it’s liverpool” romanticised b@llocks, not sure how much you remember about that 89 game SE but the fan reaction after that 5-1 game was identical to this, there just wasn’t social media to amplify it even more.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I remember David White and Paul Lake giving Pallister a horrible time, and he'd cost a fortune. We got you back with a 5-1 some years later though

They're not likely to sack him with United's CL position so finely poised and beating City would be a small act of redemption.

Can see him being at the wheel until at least the international break.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

No that's what you're hoping for......

The way we are defending and not even trying we wont even beat a poor Spurs team at the weeky and Atalanta away could get embarrassing.

Id be astonished if he's still coach for the Derby despite the fact he's actt got a good record in it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In a way, yes but what I said makes sense. If you were nailed on to qualify for the ko stages of the CL then maybe it would be a good time to get rid - But you're not.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We will lose in Italy and Spain if he's still in charge. He's lost these players now so I don't see a way back.

He was almost close to finding a solution last season with Cavani leading the line and Shaw in fine form. The midfield aside we actually started to look like a half decent team again and came a commendable second place. However we then signed Sancho and Ronaldo over sorting out the biggest issue in the team and he's paying the price for it.

However we have just gone backwards from there.

I’m choosing to believe that article from the times because Conte depresses me.

So let’s just get Fletcher in until the summer and then get the man that will bring attacking football (I think this time they won’t offer the interim a permanent deal).

It’d be worth it for the long run. And worth it for the meltdowns.

5 years later(?)

Fergie bought wisely in that time and had actually won a couple of trophies.

Should have gone for Poch when we had the chance. Huge mistake backing Ole when he was available.

The fecking PSG win set up the worst timeline

I hope they don't go near Fletcher because I absolutely do think we'd give him the gig permanently if he gets a few results.

You had some great young players then. You finished above us in 1990 the year after when we won the FA Cup as well. I really thought that group would kick on.

But the difference is that SAF had done enough in the game to justify continued faith in 1989, even though it was quite vitriolic. Ole hasn’t done anything in the game (as a manager) to deserve the faith he’s seemingly getting from the owners

Second place only happened last season because Liverpool were decimated with injuries and Chelsea hung onto Lampard for too long. Many suspect that kind of nuance is beyond the Glazers who just likely glanced at the table for a second and saw us above the CL winners and thought Ole is doing great
----------------------------------------------------------------------

From the owners perspective he has though, he did exactly what they wanted him to do when they hired him which was kill the noise being directed towards them for a bit and to get over the mourinho saga.

That now looks to be coming to an end, there is still a possibility he could salvage it in the next few though or at least do enough to stave of execution for a while longer.

Neither of those are particularly related to the point I was making though, which was that particular element of the fanbase rather than the owners motivation. The fans that wanted him in the summer but don’t want him now are identical to those that wanted Ferguson gone in 89. If you wanted him gone in the summer, then I’m not talking about you

Promoting Fletcher would be like sacking Laurel and replacing him with Hardy.

Yeah that's the other thing. I think we need to get rid of more than just Ole, as the coaches aren't up to it either. Moving away from the "United men" thing probably wouldn't be a bad idea. There's something very arrogant/stupid about thinking that just because the guys have played for the club, they're the best guys for completely different roles.
