Laporte just got sent off for the same things Evans was given yellow for 🤷♂️
The difference is Mariner
The inconsistency is really quite embarassing for those in charge of managing the referees.
Yup, it was a clear Red Card for Evans, in fact after the kick on Ramsdale he should already have been on a Yellow anyway.
Evans would have had to have also punched Auba(!) - it seems that VAR now doesn't overturn virtually anything...

Yeah that's the problem. Not wanting to undermine the refs by saying they made a clear and obvious error.
I'm sure I'm not the only one who saw Ben White go down injured, get medical attention, and then continue playing without leaving the pitch.
Michael Oliver completely missed it.

There is discretion on that. Or every Goalkeeper injury would mean an open goal.
Simple …. His name isn’t Luiz or Xhaka and he doesn’t play for Arsenal. I used to think that Olivier was a decent ref but he’s started to go downhill in the last couple of seasons. I really do think that our refs are amongst the worst of the major leagues in European football.

And unfortunately protection from Stockley Park will only see standards regress further

I think it was obvious that Oliver bottled it. Home team down to 10 men and a crying Rodgers blaming him for their defeat.
tbh I am glad he didn't send off Evans. Now our victory is all the sweeter.
Rodgers still tried to blame Oliver for us scoring from the corner because the move that allowed us to win in the corner had one of their players going down dramatically when really Sambi tried to clear the ball and occidentally caught their player with a knee on knee.

Rodgers showed one of things I really hate about him and always have. The man can never admit that his team was just outplayed by the other side and lost fair and square.
All he had to say post-match yesterday was "Ya win some ya lose some and nobody was beating Ramsdale today. Sadly for us he's had a showreel game." I mean let's face it, nobody was interested in talking about what Leicester never done or refs decisions anyway. Because our win had been ALL about the GK performance. Rodger is a proper prize
Glad the ref never sent him off anyway, it would have killed the game and seen them park 10 men behind. I'm not so sure we still would have won had they done that.
I thought a player injured by a player who is then booked for the foul, does not have to leave the field.
I've seen this in european games as well, is it discretionary or a rule as I thought.
