Xenophobia is a massive thing in the English media but no one's ready for that conversation.
Look at the difference in treatment when Rashford has a poor game compared to when Martial does. Likewise Fred compared to McTominay.
Look at the treatment David Luiz got by the English media and compare it to the moddycoddling of Maguire.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think you do have a point there.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The media coverage on Sancho compared to Pepe in their respective first season's is another example.
It's absolutely sickening but they get free reign to do this.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Xenophobia and the Little Britain Islander mentality has been a problem in Britain for decades, came to a head with Brexit.
It has been, and continues to prevalent in football too, naturally. Though I don’t agree that all the examples given here can put down to xenophobia.
Luiz mades loads of mistakes during two spells at Chelsea and a spell at Arsenal, for example, there’s a lot more ammunition for him than Maguire who has generally been alright for us, Leicester and Hull.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Maguire has had three performances in the last year (Spurs 1-6 and Leicester/Liverpool of late) that's makes even Luiz's display against Germany look half decent and the Brazillians top level is miles higher.
And all this is before we even get into the medal collection of the pair.

Exactly those who understand ALL the various qualities needed to make a team more complete (in what is after all a team sport ) will not grasp that Luiz deserved his criticisms for being a 5hit defender because he was a 5hit defender (but a good midfielder) whereas maguire is an excellent defender asked to operate next to cack and in front of a clown.
Maguire is a valuable asset in this league. Being wasted but still an asset

Praying Woodward puts in an offer of £150 million in January for him.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Before when he was scoring, no chance. Now he’s shiiit, woody sill be rock hard in anticipation of getting the cheque book out. This would bec be peak Utd under woodward. Massive wages on someone who’s just turned on the downward path.,
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The key question is this, is it Kane downing tools in or has the injury's finally caught up with him?
I remember Alexis in his last few months at Arsenal people thought it was the former when it was actually the latter.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s actually looked pretty slow since before the World Cup. It’s an interesting question. I’m not convinced he’s downed tools..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not sure tbh, either way his attitude and performance wont do him any favours.
We should have sold him to City and spunked the money on garbage in the summer
----------------------------------------------------------------------
love the faith in your board and management there rap
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Can't be facked with it anymore Baz.I'm having more fun playing Bloodbourne again.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s got to be bad when a game deigned to be as sadistic and punishing as possible is more enjoyable than watching your team…
Hang on…..why am I laughing.

Would that be a Newcastle bid, then?
Woodward will be gone from Manchester United before the year is out, as he revealed last June.
Saudi Geordies reported to be offering him silly money not to return to merchant banking.

And he was criticised for his performances during those games so it doesn’t really stack up as a comparison.
In 2020 Luiz made the most errors leading to goals than any other PL defender, he often makes mistakes while Maguire, generally, doesn’t. Nothing to do with xenophobia, imo.
Also, Milan Baros has won more trophies than Denis Law and Alan Shearer combined, I wouldn’t use it as a mark of greatness…
