And maybe this is the issue. Maybe we need to let go of the Utd way.
Chelsea are top of the PL and play 5 defenders and 2 DM's every single week. Works for them.
Also I think we could afford to play Sancho at RWB against likes of Norwich as James plays as a winger pretty much for Chelsea. What's the difference?
I don’t think the formation is the be all and end all of success we need our players to work hard first and foremost and we were playing against Tottenham Hotspur!

Agreed. You will have far bigger challenges than Tottenham Jokespur away. Like Norwich at home.
Spurs were 6th before the weekend. Somehow think they might be a bit better than Norwich you delinquent.

Yeah but still Spurs, not a game that we can extrapolate much from imo

At the time of playing us I’m not convinced we were actually much better than Norwich. Although I do find it funny that the poster having a pop is a Wolves fan and we’ve beaten them twice away from home this season already and are still above them in the table - but we know that’s small time and will be sacking our manager accordingly
If we are going to play a defensive set up, with an older line up and still not win anything, is there really any point in holding on to Ole at this point? Because at that stage, he's literally not doing any of the things he was really hired for.
I think we benefited from not being in the league cup as we had a whole week to prepare for the game against a Spurs side who had just played at Burnley with a close to full side.
With the back 7 and 4 quality forwards from the start of the season, we could have been top or second in the league right now
Awb is key. He needs to learn how to deliver in the crosses
Spurs have beaten some decent sides this season, just because they aren’t in their pomp doesn’t mean a 3-0 win is to be ignored.
We looked much improved playing a style more suited to this squad. No matter who is manager, this team aren’t playing a high press with tiki taka possession.

No. I'd have sacked him after Liverpool if it was me in charge.
But he's still here and not gone so we need to find something that works but I don't know about you lot but I don't enjoy losing every week and shipping 4 to 5 goals.
He may have stumbled on something that could work. We know it works Vs City as we have used it and best them a few times doing it.
He needs to make it work versus the smaller teams and for that he needs to drop AWB for Sancho and be brave.

not just that but also the midfield.
he could easily keep awb in a rwb, but drop one of mcfred for pogba and DVB

You see, if he did the last part, it would definitely be interesting. As that would add a much more attacking dynamic to what is primarily a defensive formation with the current personnel.
If playing three at the back is the solution, it's an additional layer of damning indictment of our recruitment strategy. We'd already left ourselves overloaded in attack, and now find ourselves in a position where the only way of creating a competent defensive shape as a team is to utilise less of them.
It worked fine at the weekend against the worst Spurs performance I can remember but let's see how it fairs against the more canny reactive sides, and when one of our three favoured CBs is out injured.
The only solution is to put Ole on a week to week rolling contract. We’d never lose
Well next week we'll find out how good this formation is. Pep will know Ole's going to play this formation, its a bit predictable. So he's going to find a way around it and target the weakness. Even though we did play 7 defensive players, it still wasn't that solid. Spurs managed to get through a few times, only their woeful finishing saved us, couldn't even get a shot on target, they were that bad.
Think if this is what Ole's going to play, then we'll be seeing a lot of drab 0-0 games if our forwards are not firing. The Utd way.

Against the weaker teams, take out a CB (i.e. Lindelof), bring Sancho in on the right of a 442, Bruno coming in from the left.

The Daily Mail are going big on their main story saying Nuno has been sacked. I guess losing big to us was the final straw 😂
