I'm all for signing new players, but they need to be better than what we have. Bruno has stated he won't get new players in just to make up the numbers. We need quality, not quantity.

This CB at Stoke may be a giant, but is he taller than what we have and where does he fit into a back three or four?

So after all the do's and don't's regarding our defence, it seems to me that we are best suited playing with a back 3 and I think Bruno has seen that.

Plus, I haven't read lately that he wants to go with a back four. It may have worked at Benfica as he had the right players, but with us, 7th spot and conceding less goals than most sides, it seems to be the best/right option.

It honestly feels like you are trying to create an argument that isn't there. Nobody has said we need to change to a back four right now and nobody has said three at the back isn't the best option for now.

As DJ righty points out, in January we lose two defenders and don't have much in the way of direct replacements. We need to add a defender to the ranks 100%. We also need to add a midfielder to the ranks.

Imagine how great our transfer windows would be if we tried that approach. Piece of pee signing up Rochdale and Northampton town players.

At least today’s revelations have revealed the real reason why we’ve never signed a back up striker for Jimenez. The club has failed to find anyone better than we already have.

Of all the defensive players we have been linked with in 2021 Botman looks the most exciting. I think many felt he would end up at a bigger club than Wolves when his name came up in the summer. But talk is that after not getting any move in the summer he would evidently have jumped at the chance of playing for Wolves if he had been given the chance and was unhappy Lille didn’t make him aware of the opportunity until very late in the window.

The good run of results kind of leaves us with a bit of a dilemma. I think we were all quite happy to sack this one off as a transition season but hard to do that now we sit seventh.

Be interesting to see what we do with Jonny when he returns. For me Ait-Nouri needs to play every week, especially at this stage as he is probably our only other player other than Neto that is going to go on to bigger and better things.

I would think Marcal would drop into the back three and Ait-Nouri stays as our left sided wing back, if both Boly and Saiss leave for the ACON.

If I were a betting man, I'd wager that we have to wait until the summer before we sign anyone else permanently. I'd rather blood one of our youngsters while the ACON is on.

By the way, I'm not suggesting that any of you want to sign players that are worse than what we have and I'm surprised at such childish remarks. But there are some, who just want to add players just for the sake of it. Something Bruno doesn't want.

I was speaking to Bruno on Monday, and he told me that he wants to bring players in during the January window, even if they’re not better than what we already have.

This is where West Brom really lead the way on us.

I think blooding one of our youngsters to replace Boly and Saiss would be a good move. When Jimenez was injured we blooded Fabio, and Raul wasn’t missed at all

A bit surprised Doherty provided fewer than 3 goals, and also that there must have been at least 13 other providers than the 3 you mentioned. But who cares as long as he keeps banging them in.

I think if he keeps refusing we should be looking at what we can get for him in January. This has rumbled on for a while now and his value will drop substantially if we get to the summer without him signing.

Bruno is looking to set us up narrower with the forwards and it works well with one always picking up space deeper and the other running off them. Traore doesn't really fit this and although it is nice to have such a good different option, we can become a bit predictable with him on the pitch.

I think it is coming to that time where the club need to decide whether our future lies with selling and reinvesting to build the squad, or whether it is worth risking losing Traore for nothing to keep the option of using him.

Something wrong with those figures.

I think quite a lot of his goals have been solo efforts and at least 3 of them were penalties.

The assist stats are always something I take with a pinch of salt as it’s given to the final player to touch the ball before the striker when quite often it’s something earlier in the play that is the key moment in creating the goal.

Also the case that when the ball falls to the striker from a block by the keeper or defender or a misplaced pass by a defender, as happened on Monday, then nobody is credited with an assist
