Well done to Edwards. Outstanding effort in the face of adversity. A nice guy getting a great result from guts, determination and skill.

While every injury is different, seeing Edwards result, Dani Pedrosa must have a good look at himself if he ever wants to be considered a real contender (however given his past wet form he probably figured Silverstone wouldn't be a good place for him anyway).

However my ride of the day goes to Dovi. To hold off Simoncelli and Lorenzo to the point where both the others crashed is a phenomenal effort. The thought of Simoncelli chucking it up the inside in the wet from behind takes nerves of steel. A well-deserved second.

As for Stoner, may as well hand over the championship trophy now. He'd be even further in front if it wasn't for 'that incident' that cost him earlier this year.

Meanwhile, over in Ducati-land, they were a very dejected lot. 'Never-a-threat' Hayden outpacing Rossi is not what the Red D is paying the big money for.

Where's everyone else? Have all the Rossi fans gone?
