Brendan certainly needs to find a way to combat teams that press us high up the pitch. Also I'm not sure that playing 3CBs suits us, yes it allows Ian to start the game but at the expense of penetration down the flanks - given a lack of Ricardo/Justin who could play effectively in the wing back role.
He has had to cope with quite a few injury problems to be fair, little Wes is a big miss, and Jonny not playing hasn't allowed Rodgers to get a settled back line.
We're still in a reasonable position at the moment given that we haven't played particularly well. Also we have the victory over Man Utd in the bank, which is not to be sniffed at.
It will be interesting to see how we get on over the remainder of the season, the period up to Christmas will have us progressing or not in the Europa League and the Carabao cup, and will also set the tone for our League campaign.

Very standard for Rodgers in terms of the way his career has gone. It's actually taken a season longer at Leicester than it did with us and Celtic. I think that he struggles to keep things fresh with the messages he delivers day to day after a certain time. He's always been and will always be a coach who has a shel life.

That’s what I’d heard, maybe he can break the cycle or maybe we should just sack
Him then rehire?

As long as we set a good price, can’t stand in the way of a mercenary who wants to move on, same for Maddison.

You're correct. Tilly appears to have decided he wants a step up as I understand he's refusing to sign a new contract. That sets the clock ticking towards disposal of that asset before his contract runs out. I don't believe Madders is quite in the same category but he may have had his head turned by rumours of 'big club' interest.
As you say, as long as the price is right....
Tilly is an interesting one, personally I'm not sure he'd make it at a top 4 team, maybe not quick enough? Maddison has hopefully realised that he needs to play well if he is to realise any loftier ambitions.
Maddison’s not going to a real big club. Even Arsenal will probably lose interest considering his form and injury record.
Tielemans I’m not sure would end up at a high-energy side, but not all of the top sides are like that. Man Utd in particular would have a need for him in their double pivot. Although they may still feel stung from doing business with us previously.
I do think he wants Champions League football and I don’t blame him as he will likely get it somewhere. Unlike Maddison he wants Champions League football and won’t.

On the OP I think this is crunch time for Rodgers.
Improve in the second half of the season, go on a decent run in the Europa and finish top 6 and he’s back to doing a top job. Throw in the League Cup and it will have been another successful season and we build again in the summer.
But fail to address the malaise that currently plagues us and we could finish bottom half, crash out of Europe in the league stage and the summer could end up being a task not to lose key talent like Fofana and Ndidi almond with Tielemans which would require a full re-build.
Whilst we’re not playing very well currently, I do think that with some small tweaks it could improve drastically, and Rodgers has had spell like this with us before that he’s rectified. I hope he can do it again.
Report currently reads C- but with the potential to finish on a B or a complete fail.
As me again after 20 games!!
